This season has already produced an exciting array of<br \/>\nfootball skills and talent, and the quarter-final games are sure to raise<br \/>\nthat excitement with eye-catching match ups.<\/p>\n<p>The girls will kick off the quarter finals <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_852159699\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Thursday<\/span><\/span> with Greensprings<br \/>\nSchool, Lekki playing against Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, while<br \/>\nAnsar-Ud-Deen Girls High School, Itire plays the second game of the day<br \/>\nagainst Dowen College, Lekki. The Greensprings male team will play against<br \/>\nEko Boys High School, Mushin in an afternoon fixture, while the game<br \/>\nbetween Kings College, Lagos and Anwar-Ul-Islam College, Agege wraps up<br \/>\nthe day.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_852159700\"><span class=\"aQJ\">On Friday<\/span><\/span>, the female teams will again set the ball rolling with a<br \/>\nmatch-up between Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School, Iponri and<br \/>\nAnsar-Ud-Deen College, Isolo. In the second game, the defending champions<br \/>\nQueens College, Yaba will seek to retain the trophy when they meet<br \/>\nInternational School, Akoka. The afternoon games will pitch Jubril Martin<br \/>\nMemorial Grammar School, Iponri against St. Gregory\u2019s College, Ikoyi, and<br \/>\nSt. Finbarr\u2019s College, Akoka against International School, all in the male<br \/>\ncategory.<\/p>\n<p>Seven out of the sixteen teams that will be playing in the quarter finals<br \/>\nhave won the tournament in the past and will be looking to repeat the<br \/>\nfeat. Three schools, Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School, Iponri,<br \/>\nInternational School Lagos, and Greensprings Schools, Lekki, will field<br \/>\nboth male and female contingents for the first time in this phase of the<br \/>\ncompetition.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2012, the GTBank Masters Cup is an annual football<br \/>\ncompetition for first generation and private secondary schools in Lagos<br \/>\nState, to promote camaraderie and foster friendliness amongst competing<br \/>\nschools.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the competition, Segun Agbaje, the Managing Director of<br \/>\nGuaranty Trust Bank plc, said \u201cWe are proud to lead this initiative that<br \/>\nprovides an avenue for students to showcase their talents and passion for<br \/>\nthe game of football even as they remain committed to their academics.\u201d He<br \/>\nfurther stated that \u201cThis competition paves the way for youths to<br \/>\ncultivate their sporting talents and aptitudes, while fostering and<br \/>\nbuilding a healthier lifestyle at a critical stage in their lives\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Guaranty Trust Bank plc is one of the few Nigerian financial institutions<br \/>\nthat has maintained a defined Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)<br \/>\nstrategy since its inception in 1990.
