\u2026Airforce chief prepares to bomb army formations<\/p>\n
With the massive expose that visited plans by Hausa-Fulani officers in the
\nNigerian military to violently overthrow the constitutional, democratic
\norder in order to prevent Acting President Yomi Osinbajo from taking over
\nfull \u00a0reigns of power in the event of President Mohammadu Buhari’s death,
\nthe coupists have moved to plan B.<\/p>\n
Chief of Army Staff, Yusuf Buratai, had raised alarm to the effect that
\nsome officers were conducting nocturnal meetings with politicians with\u00a0 a
\nview to overthrowing the government of the day.<\/p>\n
The army later launched an investigation and claimed to have made some
\narrests.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com had reported that the putschists had planned to arrest
\nthe Acting President and the National Leader of the ruling All
\nProgressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu and accuse them of
\npoisoning President Buhari.<\/p>\n
Tinubu recently reacted to the coup plot by stating that democrats\u00a0 who
\nsacrificed so much to ensure the enthronement of democratic rule would not
\nbuy undemocratic\u00a0 change of\u00a0 government. He said Lagosians would resist
\nsuch an attempt.<\/p>\n
But Pointblanknews.com has learned that the coup planners are not letting
\nup, having moved to plan B.<\/p>\n
With the deployment of new commanding officers in the various army
\nformations by the COAS, Yusuf Buaratai, as a strategy to neutralise the
\nplot, the planners, who are mainly Hausa-Fulani officers bent on ensuring
\nthat the North-west geo-political zone and some parts of North-east zone
\nretain power at all cost should President Buhari exit the stage, have
\nenlisted the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com Investigations have revealed that since new officers
\nloyal to the army chief are now in place (GOCs, Brigade commanders)
\nreducing significantly the chances of the successful coup d’\u00e9tat, the
\nplanners have opted to use the airforce chief, who is a Hausa-Fulani
\nofficer and also part of the general plan.<\/p>\n
When the plot is activated, fighter aircraft and helicopter gunships
\nrecently procured for the fight against Boko Haram insurgents are to be
\ndeployed to bombard army formations opposed to the move.<\/p>\n
“The reason to be adduced by the airforce chief is that some elements had
\nplanned to overthrow the government but the airforce is intervening as
\npart of their patriotic duty.<\/p>\n
“The chief of army staff is also a major target of the planned bombing by
\nthe air force as he is considered a major obstacle to the plot”,\u00a0 an
\nimpeccable military source told Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n
As a confirmation of this story, the Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar,
\nin the last 24 hours issued a statement claiming the airforce had
\ndiscovered plans by Boko Haram to bomb airforce bases across the country.<\/p>\n
In an obvious move to create a distraction, the airforce chief said:
\n\u201cAs a matter of fact, we have had an attack on one of our airbases in the
\nrecent past, and current intelligence reports keep highlighting the
\npossibility of attacks on our bases.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven the importance of bases in the airpower delivery matrix, it is not
\ninconceivable to expect our adversaries to target our bases.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll these reinforce the need to emplace a robust base defence concept
\nthat is capable of providing guidance for responding to a wide range of
\nsituations that may threaten our bases,\u201d the CAS\u00a0 said in a statement by
\nthe Director of Information and Public Relations (DOPRI), Air Commodore
\nOlatokunbo Adesanya”.<\/p>\n
Further checks showed that the plan to “emplace a robust air base defence”
\nis actually a decoy to bombard army formations as part of the coup plot.
\nThe air force chief had last week pledged the loyalty of the airforce to
\nthe constitution in another move to divert attention and exonerate him
