Mr Nnorom previously served as chief executive of Heirs Holdings\u2019<br \/>\naffiliate Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc and will join the Heirs<br \/>\nHoldings\u2019 Board, reporting directly to the Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu.<br \/>\nThe appointment will take effect from <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2042622139\"><span class=\"aQJ\">1 June 2017<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>As Group CEO, Mr Nnorom will provide day-to-day leadership at Heirs<br \/>\nHoldings and be responsible for execution of group strategy for the<br \/>\nproprietary investment firm, whose portfolio of investments includes<br \/>\npower, oil and gas, financial services, hospitality, real estate and<br \/>\nmedical services, with a pan-African footprint of 20 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, stated:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmmanuel is a highly respected member of the Heirs Holdings executive<br \/>\nmanagement team and his success at Transcorp, with its multi-sector<br \/>\nportfolio and his broader knowledge of Africa and commitment to our<br \/>\npan-African vision, gained at UBA, make him uniquely qualified for the<br \/>\nposition.<\/p>\n<p>Equally important, the creation of a CEO role at Heirs Holdings,<br \/>\ndemonstrates our continuing commitment to institutionalising effective<br \/>\ncorporate governance and ensuring that our investment in human capacity<br \/>\nmatches our ambitious growth strategy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>At Transcorp, Mr. Nnorom was responsible for the success of Transcorp<br \/>\nbusinesses, including Transcorp Power, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Transcorp<br \/>\nHotel Plc,\u00a0 and Transcorp Energy. Prior to Transcorp, Mr. Nnorom had held<br \/>\nsenior positions at Heirs Holdings and had served as an Executive Director<br \/>\nat UBA and Managing Director of UBA Africa, overseeing the Group\u2019s African<br \/>\nsubsidiaries.
