Ekiti State Government has accused some elements in the APC-led
\nfederal government of conniving with the Department of State Service
\n(DSS) to implicate the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose in
\ntreasonable offence, with a view to arresting him and some top
\nfunctionaries of the State government.<\/p>\n
Special Assistant of Public Communications and New Media, Lere
\nOlayinka, made this known in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on
\nThursday night.<\/p>\n
He alleged that some miscreants were already slated to be arrested by
\nthe DSS, after-which the DSS will claim that subversive materials were
\nfound on them and that the arrested miscreants confessed that they
\nwere being sponsored by Governor Fayose.<\/p>\n
The statement read; \u201cFew hours ago, credible information was received
\nas to the new plot by the APC-led federal government to rope the Ekiti
\nState Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose into treasonable offence.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis plot is being hatched with the active connivance of some top
\nfunctionaries of the DSS.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome miscreants are already slated to be arrested by the DSS,
\nafter-which the DSS will claim that subversive materials were \u201cfound\u201d
\non them and that the arrested miscreants confessed that they were
\nbeing sponsored by Governor Fayose to promote insurgency in the
\ncountry, with the ultimate aim of toppling the President Muhammadu
\nBuhari-led government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe DSS will then move in, claiming to be acting on the confession of
\nthe \u201carrested\u201d miscreants and attempt to arrest Governor Fayose and
\nsome top functionaries of the Ekiti State government.<\/p>\n
\u201cArrest of Governor Fayose will be premised on claim that the immunity
\nbeing enjoyed by the governor does not cover treasonable offences.<\/p>\n
\u201cNigerians should recall that Governor Fayose made it known last week
\nthat he was aware of the various attempts on his life just because he
\nchose to expose to Nigerians, the state of health of President
\nMuhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet it be said to those behind this new sinister plot that, like
\ntheir previous evil plots, this one too will fail.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is because Governor Fayose is only the voice of the hopeless
\nNigerians, whose future is being mortgaged by the Buhari\u2019s Presidency
\ncabal that are only interested in holding on to power at all cost.<\/p>\n
\u201cGovernor Fayose will not be involved in any unlawful act and
\nNigerians as well as the international community are placed on alert
\nas to this new plot.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the part of our governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose, he remains
\nundauntedly committed to truth and fearlessness in his defence of
\nNigerians against the cabal using falsehood, intimidation, arrest,
