{"id":58529,"date":"2017-07-13T14:08:25","date_gmt":"2017-07-13T13:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=58529"},"modified":"2017-07-13T14:08:25","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T13:08:25","slug":"apc-chieftain-congratulates-markafi-led-pdp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-chieftain-congratulates-markafi-led-pdp\/","title":{"rendered":"APC chieftain congratulates Markafi-led PDP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>&#8230;Says ruling party needs viable opposition<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A chieftain of the ruling All Prigreasives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi<br \/>\nFrank, has facilitated with the Hammed Makarfi led People Democratic Party<br \/>\n(PDP) over their victory at the Supreme Court, saying the country needs a<br \/>\nviable opposition political party for democracy to succeed.<\/p>\n<p>Frank believe that having a strong opposition PDP or any other party will<br \/>\nforce the ruling APC to deliver more on its promises to Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_503911785\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Wednesday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Supreme Court judgement in favour of Hammed Makarfi<br \/>\nfaction, the APC Deputy Publicity Secretary in a statement he signed in<br \/>\nAbuja\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_503911786\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Thursday<\/span><\/span>, urged the PDP to come alive to its responsibilities as<br \/>\nthe main opposition party for the betterment of the country&#8217;s democracy.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, democracy does not thrive where there is no viable<br \/>\nopposition political party, hence all lovers of democracy should embrace<br \/>\nthe ruling because Nigerians will be better for it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In all of this, the most important thing is that we are all Nigerians<br \/>\ndespite party differences.
