Last week Okupe dumped the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) citing sundry reasons for his exit.<\/p>\n
When he left he was silent on where his boat will berth next<\/p>\n
He had said in a statement ”\u00a0Certainly, a party like my former party, PDP has no future in the evolving Nigerian political circus.
\n\u201cThis political confusion has percolated to the states, Ogun State being one of the worst hit.
\nThe leadership of the party has been irredeemably fictionalised for nearly a decade. Presently, it is divided broadly into two major factions. One headed by Hon Ladi Adebutu and the other by Senator Buruji Kashamu. Unfortunately, I do not fit into either group. Hence it becomes extremely difficult for me to operate as a politician under the PDP umbrella in the state. Yet, all politics is local.\u201d<\/p>\n

Contacted by telephone,\u00a0Okupe \u00a0told\u00a0Pointblankews.com that he would make a formal statement on Tuesday in Abuja on his next move. He, however, lauded the leadership of the Accord Party including Ladoja.<\/p>\n

Accord \u00a0debunked claims that\u00a0 the party is part of a \u00a0coalition towards the 2019 elections in the \u00a0state, saying it has also not adopted or endorsed any of the governorship aspirants.
\nA statement by Accord\u2019s publicity secretary, Akeem Olatunji, \u00a0described as a sham a report credited to one Chief Sunday Ogunlade of the G19 group, stating that agreement had been reached by a coalition of opposition to field a governorship candidate from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
\nAccord, who described the existence of a coalition spearheaded by the G19 as unfounded and baseless, said neither its leaders nor members participated in \u201cany kangaroo meeting to share positions among political parties.\u201d
