Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial
\nDistrict and an APC stalwart, has commended APC members in Rivers State
\nfor resisting attempt by the leadership of the party in the state to shut
\nout every member that has sympathy for him at the Local Government
\nNon-elective Delegates Congress.<\/p>\n
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on his reaction to the botched congress,
\nAbe said that it was obvious to everybody that the leadership of the party
\nin the state designed the congress to shut out his supporters.<\/p>\n
“Even a child knows that yesterday’s local government non elective
\ncongress in the state was designed by the leadership for one reason and
\none reason only, to prove that those with Senator Abe has been shut out of
\nthe party and will have no space in the affairs of the party “, Abe said.<\/p>\n
He further said by resisting the act of impunity by the leadership of the
\nparty, meant that the party will grow to take over the state.<\/p>\n
Abe commended the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command for his
\nintervention pointing out that this was necessary, considering the fragile
\nnature of the state and hope that the party leadership reciprocates this
\nby ensuring that the grievances of party members are resolved amicably.<\/p>\n
“Out of respect for our party the All Progressive Congress (APC), the
\nCommissioner of Police, Rivers State, we accepted the commitments of party
\nstakeholders and the Commissioner of Police, in the hope and belief that
\nthese actions will bring stability to the APC and will help to restore the
\nconfidence of all members of the party.<\/p>\n
Abe therefore, said that APC members are looking forward to how far those
\ncommitments would be implemented by the national leadership.<\/p>\n
“We are still waiting to see how far those commitments would be
\nimplemented”.<\/p>\n
Reacting to questions from journalists, Abe said that he will never leave
\nAPC, pointing out that the party has in-built mechanism to redress
\ninjustice.<\/p>\n
He said it was because of the impunity and injustice of PDP that led to
\nthe formation of APC, which has zero tolerance to imposition of candidates
\non the party.<\/p>\n

\nKogi State. I know what we did. I saw what happened in Edo. So, APC is not
\nPDP. If I leave this kind of party to a party where I know if they are
