The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated
\nthe former governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2015
\nGovernorship Election, Mr. Tonye Princewill over his unguarded remarks
\nagainst the PDP and Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike during a live, phone-in
\nradio programme on Rhythm 93.7 FM, \u2018View Point\u2019. aired in Port Harcourt
\nlast Saturday.<\/p>\n
The State Chairman of the PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah in a statement in Port
\nHarcourt described the remarks as vexatious, reckless and mischievous,
\nadding that the lies of Mr. Tonye Princewill exposed his ranting as
\nsomeone whose egocentric and unappreciative nature has blindfolded him to
\nGovernor Wike\u2019s resounding achievements in just two years in office.<\/p>\n
Bro. Obuah said the PDP was not surprised at what he called \u2018another show
\nof shame\u2019 by Mr. Princewill, adding that Rivers people have always known
\nhim to be a \u2018political vendor\u2019 and \u2018professional failed governorship
\ncandidate\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrincewill is a businessman who trades only where the market is favorable
\nto him. In 2007, it was Action Congress (AC); in 2011, it was PDP and in
\n2015, he moved to Labour Party (LP).\u00a0 Wherever the pendulum of good
\nbusiness swings, he moves there.\u00a0 Rivers people will never take such a man
\nserious\u201d, Obuah said<\/p>\n
The State PDP boss stressed that he was also not surprised at Princewill\u2019s
\nvituperations against the PDP and Governor Wike whose achievements have
\nwon local, national and international acclaim, wondering how can someone
\nwho, immediately he lost the 2015 governorship election, packed his bags
\nand baggage and relocated to Abuja (and even admitted so during the radio
\nprogramme) have the capacity to evaluate or comment on what Wike is doing
\nin Rivers State.<\/p>\n
He said it was rather unfortunate that someone with his level of knowledge
\nand exposure would go on air to propagate falsehood to the people, saying
\nthat Princewill goofed on many issues, including the Pleasure Park project
\nand appointment of members of other political parties into Local
\nGovernment Caretaker Committees.<\/p>\n
\u201cTonye Princewill clearly showed his ignorance about the affairs of the
\nState.\u00a0 He tried to ridicule the Pleasure Park by describing it as
\n\u2018Keke-Na-Pep hanging in the air\u2019, but forgetting that billions of Naira
\nwere wasted by the APC administration to build the Pleasure Park, all to
\nno avail\u201d, Bro. Obuah declared.<\/p>\n
On the appointment of members of the Labour Party into Local Government
\nCaretaker Committees, Bro. Obuah said it was a demonstration of good
\ngovernance in the State even as it also helped in forging inter party
\nunity, recalling that Princewill, when he lost the Governorship ticket to
\nOmehia in 2011, entered into agreement with the PDP leading to the
\nappointment of his party members into Amaechi\u2019s Cabinet.<\/p>\n
The PDP Chairman observed that Princewill knew very well that he was
\nspreading falsehood to his listeners, hence his failed attempt to answer
\nthe many questions that were posed on him by curious listeners and the
\npresenter of the programme.<\/p>\n
