{"id":59258,"date":"2017-08-25T02:56:23","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T01:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=59258"},"modified":"2017-08-25T02:56:23","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T01:56:23","slug":"northern-groups-set-announce-withdrawal-quit-notice-ndi-igbos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/northern-groups-set-announce-withdrawal-quit-notice-ndi-igbos\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Groups Set To Announce Withdrawal of Quit Notice To Ndi Igbos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coalition of Northern Groups are Set to address a world press conference<br \/>\nannouncing the withdrawal of the Kaduna\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_596289223\"><span class=\"aQJ\">October 1<\/span><\/span>\u00a0quit notice on Ndigbo<br \/>\nliving in the north.<\/p>\n<p>The peace deal was reportedly brokered by New Nigerian Project, the<br \/>\nbrainchild of Chairman, Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria, Chief<br \/>\nAllen Onyema and Mohammed\u200e Danjuma, President, Arewa Transformation and<br \/>\nEmpowerment Initiative.<\/p>\n<p>President of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Yerima Shettima had said<br \/>\nthe decision to review the ultimatum is for the interest of peace and<br \/>\nunity of the country.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the intervention of some notable Igbo leaders showed that<br \/>\nthe indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) does not speak for the entire<br \/>\nIgbos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the June Kaduna declaration, a lot had happened. The silence on the<br \/>\npart of the south east governors actually prompted a lot of things that<br \/>\ngave birth to the June declaration. Having seen a lot of things going on<br \/>\nas regards to governors having meetings to dissociate themselves from that<br \/>\nIPOB, believing in Nigeria and also organisations such as the Ohanezes and<br \/>\nthe Ohaneze Youth Council and other prominent Nigerians from that same<br \/>\naxis, gave us reasons to begin to think of reviewing our positions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut then, officially, we have not sat down to conclude plans on reviewing<br \/>\nthe position of things. I hope very soon, we will sit down and also review<br \/>\nthe situation that will make our position very clear on our position on<br \/>\nwhat we felt about the whole thing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo those who believe in Nigeria, they should remain calm, there is no<br \/>\nproblem but to those who felt they want a republic of their own please<br \/>\nthey should not drag the north into that mess because we strongly believe<br \/>\nin Nigeria. They should go back to their area since they believe they want<br \/>\nto go out of Nigeria and they want to form a republic of their own.
