As the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Ekiti State
\ngovernment to investigate the finances of the state under the
\nadministration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi continued its proceedings today,
\nan official of Coscharis Motors Nigeria Limited, Mr. Justin Ighene has
\nsaid that the company was awarded contract to supply 156 vehicles
\nverbally and that 17 vehicles were presented to the government as
\ngifts.<\/p>\n
Counsel to Coscharis Motors Nigeria Limited, Mr Jiya Peter guided the
\nwitness in presenting the document he submitted before the commission.<\/p>\n
Mr Ighene said Coscharis Motors was only given letter of award of
\ncontract to supply 59 vehicles while 156 vehicles were supplied based
\non verbal directive from Dr Fayemi.<\/p>\n
Ighene\u2019s evidence contradicted a letter written by Coscharis Motors to
\nthe Ministry of Local Government dated May 2, 2014.<\/p>\n
Counsel to the commission, Mr Sunday Bamise led Mr. Shittu Rotimi who
\nis the Principal Technical Officer in the General Administration
\nDepartment, Transport Pool, Government House, Ado-Ekiti in reading out
\nthe content of the exhibit he tendered yesterday.<\/p>\n
Mr. Shittu who is in charge of procurement, furniture and
\ndistributions of the state’s vehicles maintained that 219 vehicles
\nwere received by his office and not 235 as indicated in Coscharis
\nMotors letter to the Ministry of Local Government dated May 2, 2014.<\/p>\n
Other witnesses who appeared before the commission yesterday and cross
\nexamined today were Mr. Samuel Akinjide Akinleye of the Local
\nGovernment, Community Development and Chieftaincy Title and Mr. Shola
\nOgunmiluyi.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the\u00a0 Commission, Justice Salias Oyewole adjourned the
