Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Monday met with the President
\nof Niger Republic, Mahamadou Issoufou, where the two leaders discussed
\nissues of cooperation and mutual benefit to their citizens.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Niamey, the Niger
\nCapital.<\/p>\n
A statement issued by Tambuwal’s spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, said the two
\nleaders discussed important issues that bothered on education, trade and
\ncultural integration between Sokoto State and Niger Republic.<\/p>\n
“Sokoto and Niger Republic have long standing cultural, religious and
\nfamily ties. Governor Tambuwal’s visit to the Palais De Presidence is meant
\nto enhance these ties and also explore other important areas of cooperation
\nlike education and trade,” the statement added.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Tambuwal will meet with Sokoto indigenes in Niger
\nRepublic and also meet with senior public officials and investors to
\nexplore areas of further cooperation.<\/p>\n
The Governor was accompanied to Niamey by the Secretary to the State
\nGovernment (SSG), Professor Bashir Garba, Chief of Staff Government House,
\nMukhtar Magori, Commissioner for Local Government and Community
