A group, the Imo Coalition has faulted the claims of Senator Hope Uzodinma that he attracted 52 road projects in his 16 months at the Senate.<\/p>\n
In a statement by its Director of Political Affairs, Chief Leo Uzor, the group berated Uzodinma for what it described as feeding traditional rulers with falsehood because he desires to be seen as a performing senator.<\/p>\n
The group maintained that the road and other projects which the senator referred to as published in an Owerri based newspaper were all contained in the 2011 NDDC budget and perfected before he emerged a senator.<\/p>\n
As a result of the development, the group lament that Uzodinma is now claiming the efforts of Senators Sylvester Anyanwu, Osita Izunaso and Chris Anyanwu; as well as Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Mayor Eze and other members of the National Assembly whose inputs ensured that the projects saw the light of the day in the 2011 NDDC budget.<\/p>\n
Senator Hope Uzodinma must be a magician to have made inputs in the 2011 NDDC budget when he was nowhere near the senate and the projects were articulated in the 2011 NDDC budget,\u009d the group said.<\/p>\n
The Imo Coalition group further noted that the award of a “Super Senator” on Uzodinma by the traditional rulers was simply based on distortion of facts.<\/p>\n
Our royal fathers should be treated with dignity and respect at all times. Even the Skill Acquisation Centre at Omuma; Uzodinma’s country home, included in the 2011 NDDC by Senator Osita Izunaso, was also lined up as one of the projects attracted by Uzodinma,\u009d the group lamented.<\/p>\n
It maintained that a senator can only attract a project to his constituency by including such project in the budget. The group advised Uzodinma to exercise patience till the 2012 budget of NDDC is passed, stressing that it is only then that his performance and input into that budget would be assessed.<\/p>\n
It is only then that we can begin to assess his performance but not to ride on other peoples efforts to gain undue prominence.<\/p>\n
As at press time, efforts to get Uzodinma’s reaction to the position of the group failed to yield fruit as his lines were switched off.<\/p>\n
Recall that Uzodinma who represents Imo West Senatorial zone at the National Assembly had summoned traditional rulers to his Omuma country home in \u00c2 Oru East local council of Imo state and claimed to have attracted 52 road projects in his 16 months stay at the senate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
