Two weeks after an futile efforts to bribe President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s
\nmarabouts, Director General, Department of State Security, Mr. Lawal Daura
\nhave become more desperate in his bid to ensure that Abia State, Dr. Okezie
\nIkpeazu, gets the favour of the Supreme Court in a case of submission of
\nfalse and forgery of tax documents filed against him by a contestant in the
\nDecember 8, 2014 PDP governorship primaries, Sir\u00a0Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Nwosu.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that Ikpeazu and Daura have commenced moves to
\ncompromise the recently inaugurated Corruption and Financial Crime Cases
\nTrial Monitoring Committee headed by rtd Justice Ayo Salami.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com further gathered that the governor had confronted the
\nDSS Director general on how the deal to bribe Buhari\u2019s marabouts leaked to
\nthe public with Daura only giving out N10 million out of the N100 million
\ndoled out by the governor. On Thursday 28th September, the governor was
\nsaid to have stormed Daura\u2019s residence, fuming that the leakage of the
\ninformation to the public had caused him national and international
\nembarrassment. However, Daura reportedly told the governor to \u2018cool down\u2019
\nthat all hope is not lost and sold the idea to bribe members of the Justice
\nAyo Salami committee to the governor.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Daura hinted that the DG and the governor drove round
\nAbuja in a car where they discussed in details how Daura had influenced the
\nappointment of most members of the Justice Salani committee. The DG
\ninformed the governor that he influenced Chief Olisa Agbakoba\u2019s appointment
\ninto the Salami committee. Agbakoba is said to been representing the
\ngovernor and Daura in other cases where they have interest.<\/p>\n

The embattled governor who hardly spends a week in Abia, had continued to
\nboast that with his chief legal consultant, Chief Wole Olanipekun,(SAN) as
\na member of the committee, his interest in the pending cases with
\nfraudulent colouration will be protected. On this, Agbakoba is scheduled to
\nmeet with Justice Salami on how he (Salami) will talk to the Chief Justice
\nof Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen to saveIkpeazu from being removed
\nfrom office due to the glaring forgery and false information contained in
\nhis tax documents submitted to PDP and INEC.<\/p>\n

Ikpeazu is also informed Daura that in order to weaken and frighten Nwosu,
\nthey must file three different cases at the Umuahia, Aba and Omoba
\ndivisions of the Abia state high court. A legal practitioner who is
\nlobbying to be appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in
\nAbia state has been assigned to coordinate the cases.<\/p>\n

On this, Daura, sources told Pointblanknews.com, has assured Ikpeazu of
\nevery cooperation and contacts to ensure that the apex court favours him in
\nher ruling on the suit filed by Nwosu.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ikpeazu has become too uncomfortable with recent developments in
\nthe Supreme Court where the CJN have vowed never to pander to political
\ninterference and deliver justice. The recent development at the Kenya
\nSupreme court in an election appeal appears to have emboldened the apex
\ncourt.\u00a0 The governor and Daura are said to be worried on how information
\nabout their activities have continued to leak to the public, even the DG
\nassured the governor that he had discover the source of leakage of the
\ninformation and taken care of it.<\/p>\n

Other members of the panel who the DG and governor are said to be trying
\nhard to reach out to include; President, Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA),
\nA.B.Mahmoud,SAN;\u00a0 Dr. Garba Tetengi, SAN,Justice Kassim Zannah, Justice
\nP.O.Nnadi, Justice Paul Umukoro, Justice M.L. Abimbola,\u00a0 Mrs R.I.Inga and
