\u00a0The Bayelsa State Government has concluded plans to ensure women who are into small businesses have access to finance in order to support their enterprise and make them more self reliant.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This was one of the resolutions reached\u00a0on Wednesday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0at the 81st State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided over by Governor Henry Seriake Dickson at the Government House, Yenagoa.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Kemela Okara\u200e said the government decided that one billion naira will be made available to the women and it will only be assessed through the new Bayelsa Rural Coorprative Scheme..<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He explained that only women with traceable businesses and who fall under the low income bracket will benefit from the revolving loan while adding that\u200e it must be paid back so that others will have the opportunity to assess it.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Okara who disclosed that the government will be working with a financial institution to achieve the objective also said youths under the new Bayelsa Youth Enterprise Scheme will\u200e have the opportunity to assess the sum of five hundred million naira to support them to start a business.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him the latest round of intervention by the government is geared towards helping the growth of small businesses and ensuring that Bayelsans are engaged to cater for their own needs.<\/span><\/div>\n

On his part, the State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu said the fight against the viral ‘MonkeyPox’ disease is almost won as so far the measures put in place have worked effectively..\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He announced that six people have been discharged, three are receiving treatment in their homes while six cases are still under strict surveillance at the quarantine center at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobri.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Health Commissioner asked Bayelsans not to panic as the government is on top of the situation and therefore there is no cause for alarm\u200e but urged them to continue to observe preventive measures and be very vigilant.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Also, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson expressed the commitment of the government to ensure that Bayelsans live a healthy life \u200eand urged them to continue to support the present administration.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
