Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the President
\nMuhammadu Buhari led government as one that is rotten and covered with
\nscandalous corruption, saying; \u201cwithin the last one month, Nigerians
\nhave been confronted with messy revelations that gave credence to my
\nearlier position that President Buhari is the life patron of
\ncorruption in Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
The governor, who also alleged that there was a grand plot to release
\nanother set of Chibok Girls as another means of shifting the attention
\nof Nigerians from the various scandals rocking the government, added
\nthat the claimed recovery of $85 million as part of funds allegedly
\nlooted from the Malabu oil deal and conclusion of negotiation with
\nSwitzerland on the return of $321 million recovered from the late
\nAbacha family are diversionary.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public
\nCommunications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose, while
\naddressing journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday, asked; \u201cwhen was this
\n$85 million recovered? Has the money been paid into the Federation
\nAccount? Didn\u2019t Buhari claim that Abacha did not steal a penny? They
\nare just trying to divert the attention of Nigerians as they have
\nalways done.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said; \u201cWhile the President Muhammadu Buhari led government is still
\nbeing confronted with the MainaGate\u2019s global shame, the Senator
\nrepresenting the Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Isa Misau,
\nyesterday, came with yet another bombshell that the Inspector General
\nof Police, Ibrahim Idris, gave two Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to
\nthe wife of the President, Aisha Buhari.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though the police has said the vehicles in question were meant
\nfor the police personnel in the convoy of wife of the president,
\nNigerians will like to see records of such vehicles provided for the
\nsecurity personnel of previous First Ladies. Most importantly, what
\nhappened to the promise made by the President not to operate the
\nOffice of the First Lady?<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the last one month, Nigerians have been confronted with messy
\nrevelations like the fraudulent reinstatement of Abdullahi Maina, who
\nwas declared wanted for corrupt practices by the International Police
\nOrganisation, (INTERPOL) after he was dismissed from office by the
\nCivil Service Commission in 2013 for allegedly committing N2.1 Billion
\npension fraud while in office.<\/p>\n
\u201cMinister of State for Petroleum Resources Ibe Kachikwu\u2019s allegation
\nof award of $25 billion contracts without following due process
\nagainst the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National
\nPetroleum Corporation (NNPC); Dr. Maikanti Baru.<\/p>\n
\u201cReinstatement of the former Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde, who
\nwas accused of corruption by the Senate, removed from office
\nunceremoniously and declared wanted, as the Commissioner of Police in
\ncharge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi, Lagos.<\/p>\n
\u201cAppointment of Ahmed Gambo Saleh; the Supreme Court Registrar, who
\nwas indicted and put on trial for alleged over N2 billion fraud, as
\nthe Secretary of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and Secretary of
\nthe Corruption and Financial Crime Cases Trial Monitoring Committee,
\nheadship of which has now been rejected by Retired Justice Isa Ayo
\nSalami.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, the President\u2019s claim to integrity is under serious question,
\nwith his men dancing naked in the market square and there is no hope
\nthat their nakedness can be covered any longer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking further, the governor said; \u201cWhile I await yet another
\nscandal in what has become a government of one week, one scandal, I
\nask our President what has happened to the report of the committee
\nthat investigated the $43 million discovered in an apartment at
\nOsbourne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat has happened to the allegation of award of $25 billion contracts
\nwithout following due process made against Dr. Maikanti Baru by Dr Ibe
\nKachikwu?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened to the DSS indictment for corruption of the Acting
\nChairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and the Attorney General of the
\nFederation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN)
\nInvestigative Panel set up by the President?<\/p>\n
\u201cWho is the owner of that shop the LEGICO Shopping Plaza, Ahmadu Bello
\nWay, Victoria Island, Lagos inside which the EFCC claimed that it
\nfound N448.8 million cash?<\/p>\n
\u201cWho brought the five sacks in which the EFCC claimed that it found
\nN49 million cash to the Kaduna Airport?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened to the probe panel on the alleged N500million bribery
\nsaid to have been paid to the Chief of Staff (COS), Abba Kyari by
\nofficials of South African owned MTN Telecommunications Company with
\nthe intent that the COS influence government to discontinue its heavy
\nstance on the $5billion fine imposed on the company?<\/p>\n
\u201cMost importantly, the President directed the Head of Civil Service of
\nthe Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, to submit a report on the
\ncircumstances surrounding Maina\u2019s reinstatement to his Chief of Staff,
\nAbba Kyari, before the close of work on Tuesday, today is Friday, what
\nhas happened to the report?<\/p>\n
\u201cIs the President going to use APC broom to sweep the report on
\nMaina\u2019s fraudulent reinstatement under the carpet just as he did to
\nothers before it?<\/p>\n
\u201cOne can go on and on, but the painful reality is that Buhari\u2019s
\ngovernment is not only corrupt, the government itself is corruption!<\/p>\n
\u201cAs posited by APC Senator, Shehu Sani, \u2018when it comes to fighting
\ncorruption in the National Assembly and the Judiciary and in the
\nlarger Nigerian sectors, the President uses insecticide, but when it
\ncomes to fighting corruption within the Presidency, they use
\ndeodorants.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cIn other words, perfume is being sprayed on corruption when it
\naffects Buhari\u2019s men while insecticide sprayed on corruption when it
\ninvolves perceived political opponents of the President.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike I have maintained, President Buhari is not fighting any
\ncorruption. He is indeed the Life Patron of Corruption in Nigeria, who
\nis hiding under anti-corruption fight to harass his perceived
\npolitical foes. However, like every affliction of the Israelites, all
\nthese too shall pass and Nigeria shall be free from this Buhari\u2019s
