{"id":60199,"date":"2017-11-16T16:00:26","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T15:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wwww.pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=60199"},"modified":"2017-11-16T16:00:26","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T15:00:26","slug":"anambra-guber-cnpp-commends-inec-warns-manipulation-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/anambra-guber-cnpp-commends-inec-warns-manipulation-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra Guber: CNPP Commends INEC, Warns Against Manipulation of Results \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has commended the<br \/>\nIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its level of<br \/>\npreparedness ahead of the\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_962844855\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Saturday, November 18, 2017<\/span><\/span>, governorship<br \/>\nelection in Anambra State.<\/p>\n<p>The umbrella body of all registered political parties and political<br \/>\nassociations in the country warned all stakeholders in the election<br \/>\nagainst manipulation of the process to thwart the wish of the people of<br \/>\nthe state.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement signed by the Conference\u2019s Secretary General, Chief Willy<br \/>\nEzugwu and issued in Abuja\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_962844856\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Thursday<\/span><\/span>, the CNPP urged civil society<br \/>\ngroups and other accredited election monitors in the state, including<br \/>\nsecurity agencies, to be on guard and ensure that any form of electoral<br \/>\nfraud was nipped in the bud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy with INEC so far from our the assessment of the level of<br \/>\npreparedness of the Commission and we urge stakeholders and security<br \/>\nagencies to ensure fairness and maintain level playing ground as the<br \/>\npeople of Anambra go to polls\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_962844857\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Saturday<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll accredited election monitors and the civil society groups must be<br \/>\nalive to their civic responsibility at this time to ensure that the<br \/>\npopular wish of Anambrarians prevail after the polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be in the interest of democracy and good governance if the<br \/>\nstakeholders ensure strict adherence to the rules of the game and upholde<br \/>\nthe Electoral Act as the outcome of this election will determine the level<br \/>\nof confidence of Nigerian ahead of the 2019 general election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we impulse Anambra people to shun any form of violence and<br \/>\nreport anything that could lead to a breakdown of law and order to INEC<br \/>\nand security agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also urge the electorate to troop out in their number to vote the<br \/>\ncandidate of their choice to enthrone good governance and ameliorate the<br \/>\nhardship being faced by Anambrarians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour vote is your voice; it is time to speak with your thumb to determine<br \/>\nthe future of Anambra State.
