It is possible to have a Governor that can be trusted and does not put
\nothers down for himself to go up.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who is more of a Collaborator than a
\nCompetitor.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who will build Bridges rather than
\nDestroy them.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who is a Natural Mediator rather than
\none who naturally creates Conflicts, Tensions and Divisions.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who is thirsty for knowledge, one who
\nhungers for factual, expert-oriented and unbiased knowledge all the time
\nand on all levels.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who is level-headed, has high emotional
\nintelligence (IQ) and has learned to move above his emotions, partisan
\nconditioning and fixations to specific outcomes to think logically and
\nglobally.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who is not seeking fame and attention,
\none who is able to move above and beyond any egoistic and primitive need
\nfor power, attention or establishing his personal agendas and works for
\nthe good of all \u2013 regardless of partisan affiliations and sensitivities.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who understands that the aim of politics
\nis to unite and reach consensus and not to divide or create enmity among
\npeople. One who understands that power is only a product of collective
\naction.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who will not fight and wrestle with
\nopposition politicians but will fight and wrestle against the prevailing
\nissues of poverty, poor healthcare, poor education, poor security, poor
\nenvironment, unemployment, Hunger, Infrastructure development, etc.<\/p>\n
It is possible to have a Governor who will not be foisted upon Rivers
\npeople by a mischievous political system or a deeply corrupt judiciary but
\nby the voice and the votes of the people of Rivers State.
\nHow can we make this possible?<\/p>\n
First, learn your candidate. Know your candidate.<\/p>\n
Second, research your candidate. Find out how they performed in their
\nprevious positions of service. Did they create and encourage conflict?
\nWere they selfless or selfish? Did they corruptly enrich themselves?<\/p>\n
Are they known for acts of humanity and philantrophy? Are they known to
\npromote education and encourage human achievement? Are they known to
\npromote happiness and goodwill?<\/p>\n
Third, go beyond partisan considerations and choose your candidate based
\non merit, capacity, ability, achievement and relationships.<\/p>\n
Fourth, do not vote based on how others are voting.<\/p>\n
Fifth, our votes must be based on the result of our rigorous research.<\/p>\n
Sixth, we must make sure the candidate we are voting for has addressed the
\nissues that Rivers people fight, wrestle and grapple with every day.<\/p>\n
Issues such as Joblessness; Hopelessness; Poverty, Infrastructural decay;
\nCost, Quality and availability of Healthcare; Cost and Availability of
\nGood Education; Quality of the Environment; Massive Insecurity should be
\ncritical in this engagement.<\/p>\n
Finally, we must all go out there and vote.<\/p>\n
