Minister for Transport, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has said only prayers
\nand rededication to God can guarantee a victory for the All Progressive
\nCongress, APC, in the 2019 general elections.<\/p>\n
Amaechi spoke while testifying on his \u2018miraculous\u2019 emergence as Governor
\nof Rivers State in 2007 during a special thanksgiving service to mark the
\n10th anniversary of the Supreme Court judgement that declared him Governor
\nof Rivers State, held at the Abundant Life Evangelical Mission (ALEM) in
\nPort Harcourt, Sunday.<\/p>\n
He recounted his ordeal at the time and how God showed up for him when all
\nodds were against him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe truth is that we believed God. Some who didn\u2019t believe left us just
\nas they are leaving now. God told me that what he will do in Rivers State
\nwill tingle the ears, and I believed. We were so broke, we could not pay
\nlegal fees or children\u2019s school fees. My wife prayed every day and night.
\nI was fasting and praying for 3 months.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told God \u2018I have a friend who has money, please make him remember me.\u2019
\nI called my friend and he told me he has been looking for me. I told him I
\nwas in Ghana and he asked for my account\u2026 He sent me Two hundred million
\nnaira. This is just to tell you that I believed God and he answered me,\u201d
\nAmaechi said.<\/p>\n
He wondered why many of his friends and political associates whom he
\nhelped one way or the other have betrayed him. But he noted that it is
\nGod\u2019s way of creating a vacuum for the youths to take charge.<\/p>\n
He also advised the youths to be of help to people around them when they
\nare in positions of power.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cWe must all go back to God in faith and prayers. Those
\nwho want to leave can go. I have come to understand that God passes us
\nthrough these challenges to prove himself. Now that they have left, for
\nme, this is an opportunity for the youths. It is your turn. You must
\nensure that we get to power for you to fill the vacuum left.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have sometimes asked God, \u2018why do you use me to bless people and after
\nblessing them, they run away.\u2019 Count how many people in Rivers State
\npolitics today that I did not help somehow. I don\u2019t want to take the glory
\naway from God. So, for those who left, may God bless them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you get your own appointment, also put somebody. Allow God to use
\nyou and leave the rest all up to him,\u201d Amaechi advised.<\/p>\n
On the 2019 elections, he continued, \u201cif we don\u2019t pray, 2019 will be very
\nfar from us. If we don\u2019t win 2019, it would be your fault, not anybody
\nelse\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe go to God because he answers. We pray, then go home and work. Back
\nthen, even in my father\u2019s house in the village, there was a prayer team\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
During his sermon, General Overseer of ALEM, Apostle Eugene Ogu recalled
\nthe travails of Amaechi in 2007, how he cried at the altar and how God
\nused him to make a statement in Rivers State.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cmaking a man who did not participate in elections governor is
\none act of God that cannot\u00a0 be erased in the history of Rivers State. God
\nis in charge of this state. That is why the conspiracy of evil ones cannot
\nstand.<\/p>\n
Apostle Ogu admonished the congregation to do good and avoid evil
\ncommunications, because \u201cwhat you sow, you shall reap. If you are paid to
\nkill people, somebody will kill you without collecting money. If you use
\nyour pen to lie against people, if you blackmail people, one day, somebody
