Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Relations, Alhaji Garba Shehu has refused to pledge loyalty to his current boss President\u00a0Muhammadu Buhari if he eventually gets to contest against his former boss Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2019. Atiku Abubakar who recently defected from the ruling APC to the PDP has expressed his intentions to run against the current president in 2019.<\/div>\n

Garba Shehu was asked the question of where his loyalty lies between his both bosses and he responded thus:\u00a0\u201cWhen the time comes you will ask the question.”\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

However, Garba Shehu said that he does not know if the President would run in 2019 but that the president deserves a second term, citing anti-corruption as his biggest qualifier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Buhari) more than deserves a second term on account of the fact that the president has started something of a revolution in this country.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

“Because it would take a revolution to transform this country from a country that did not condemn corruption at the rhetorical level, that has embraced corruption top to bottom. That\u2019s what the President is trying to change,\u201d\u00a0<\/i>he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also attacked one of the top challenges of President Buhari, Sule Lamido and\u00a0questioned his educational and moral qualifications to challenge him.\u00a0\u201cThat Man (Sule Lamido) does he have WAEC certificate?\u201d<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEven in politics there is morality. You cannot be governor you take money from government coffers and you put\u00a0in your\u00a0children\u2019s account and then you come and tell us you want to become president. You are undergoing trial, you do not have humility, you can\u2019t lower your head? That\u2019s disrespectful of Nigerians. This is a country\u00a0governed by law.”<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

He also scored the Buhari administration high on the fight against Boko Haram, saying Boko Haram would have taken over Aso Rock if Buhari had not been President.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also discussed the achievements of the administration, IPOB, 2019 Elections, the opposition PDP and others on the\u00a0<\/span>GatefieldTV\u2019s #ConversationswithAbangMercy show.<\/p>\n
