{"id":60749,"date":"2018-01-22T19:38:11","date_gmt":"2018-01-22T18:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=60749"},"modified":"2018-01-22T19:38:11","modified_gmt":"2018-01-22T18:38:11","slug":"we-will-deliver-on-security-anti-corruption-fight-and-unemployment-buhari-vows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/we-will-deliver-on-security-anti-corruption-fight-and-unemployment-buhari-vows\/","title":{"rendered":"We Will Deliver On Security, Anti Corruption Fight and Unemployment, Buhari Vows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_511385055\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Monday<\/span><\/span> in Abuja said his administration remains<br \/>\nresolute and focused on delivering on the three-pronged promises of<br \/>\nsecuring the lives and properties of Nigerians, halting the pillage of the<br \/>\neconomy by corrupt public officials, and creating employment opportunities<br \/>\nfor the youths.<\/p>\n<p>Receiving the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group at<br \/>\nthe State House, President Buhari said the initial economic challenge<br \/>\nposed by recession was already dwindling, with the economy smarting out<br \/>\nand posting better results on falling inflation rates, higher foreign<br \/>\nreserve and better ranking on ease of doing business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look critically into the 2018 budget, we have already taken into<br \/>\naccount key issues of more stable electricity, construction of roads and<br \/>\nrails, and the airport concession\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>The President said the government will work more to accelerate and<br \/>\nincrease momentum in agriculture, power, gas, manufacturing and<br \/>\nprocessing, while commending the Chinese government for its support in<br \/>\nimproving infrastructure in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe send our gratitude to the Chinese for all their support to Nigeria.<br \/>\nSince Independence, no country has helped our country on infrastructural<br \/>\ndevelopment like the Chinese. In some projects, the Chinese help us with<br \/>\n85 per cent payment, and soft loans that span 20 years. No country has<br \/>\ndone that for us,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>The President assured Nigerians that the rising attacks on communities by<br \/>\nherdsmen will soon be brought under control by security forces deployed to<br \/>\nthe vulnerable areas across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said the unfortunate incident of attacks, which had resulted in loss of<br \/>\nlives and properties, had already brought sorrow and hardship on many<br \/>\nNigerians, with the government deeply affected.<\/p>\n<p>President Buhari said the government will continue to strengthen its<br \/>\nrelationship with the NESG, especially in integrating its recommendations<br \/>\ninto policies that will improve the livelihood of all Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>In his remark, the chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, Kyari Abba<br \/>\nBukar, commended the government for the \u201cpragmatic approach\u2019\u2019 in engaging<br \/>\nwith citizens of Niger Delta region which had translated into steady rise<br \/>\nin oil production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour Excellency, we salute your courage in providing support to the<br \/>\nstates that have had fiscal challenges.
