The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lampooned the Presidency for
\nabandoning its responsibility of governance and now deploying resources
\nmeant for the good of the people to push a desperate but ill-fated
\nmission to perpetuate on Nigerians, an obviously unpopular Presidential
\ncandidate in 2019.<\/p>\n
The party said the Presidency has become so panicky that it effectively
\nhijacked the functions of the leadership of its dysfunctional and
\nideologically vacuous All Progressives Congress (APC), by appointing
\npeople into partisan offices, outside its much-desired responsibility of
\ngovernance.<\/p>\n
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on
\nThursday, said it is ludicrous that after almost three years of failure
\nto deliver on the littlest of its campaign promises, the Buhari
\nPresidency is now moving around, cap in hands, looking for those to use
\nonce again to beguile Nigerians ahead of the 2019 elections.<\/p>\n
The PDP stressed that the Buhari Presidency has failed to be remorseful
\nfor its misrule noting that the disagreements in their party are
\nfallouts of members\u2019 resentment towards its desperation for power.<\/p>\n
‘There is widespread disenchantment and indignation across the nation
\nresulting from hunger and the inability of the Buhari Presidency to
\nprovide the people with basic necessities of life, which they had always
\nenjoyed in the past.<\/p>\n
‘Nigerians are therefore waiting to see how Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has
\nalso openly expressed his concerns and disapprovals on the mismanagement
\nof the economy and whose large constituents are direct victims of the
\nineptitude, impunity, nepotism, dictatorial tendencies, corruption and
\ninsecurity that has characterized the Buhari Presidency, will now turn
\naround to preach that all is well and attempt to sell a practically bad
\nproduct to the nation.<\/p>\n
‘It is instructive to further state that the desperate move by the
\nPresidency to politically prey on individuals is mere foolhardiness and
\na totally decadent approach to pitch key leaders against the people on
\nan issue that has already been thrown overboard.<\/p>\n
This is more so as the political institutions and frontrunners that
\nthrew up the Buhari Presidency in 2015 have now, not only regretted
\ntheir actions, but have also strongly advised that President Buhari
\nshould not contemplate contesting a second term in office.<\/p>\n
Nigerians today suffer from pains inflicted on them by this
\nadministration and no amount of manipulation of individuals and public
\ninstitutions can make them change their resolve to vote out APC in 2019,
\nparticularly as the party is stuck with an unpopular candidate.<\/p>\n
The PDP therefore finds APC\u2019s attempt to reconcile its dwindling ranks
\nas laughable, cosmetic and politically inconsequential.<\/p>\n
It will interest the APC to know that Nigerians are already rallying
\nwith the repositioned and rebranded PDP as we are poised to present a
\ncredible, competent and reliable candidate through a free, fair and
\ntransparent presidential primary.<\/p>\n
