Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that God will visit
\nthe blood of the innocent people of Benue State and other States
\nkilled by suspected herdsmen on the killers and their sponsors, even
\nas he reiterated his call for the restructuring of the country.<\/p>\n

The governor, who was speaking in Makurdi, the Benue State capital
\nduring his visit today, to commiserate with the State Governor, Samuel
\nOrtom and the people of the State over killings by suspected herdsmen,
\ndeclared support for the Benue State Anti-Grazing Law and urged the
\npeople of the State to stand by the law, adding that; \u201csince the law
\nis for the Benue people by the Benue government and not for residents
\nof other States, there should not be any problem about its
\nenforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n

His Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere
\nOlayinka said in a statement that Governor Fayose, who was accompanied
\nby the Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola, Chief of Staff; Chief
\nDipo Anisulowo, Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on
\nInformation; Dr Samuel Omotoso and others arrived at the Makurdi
\nAirport at exactly 12:23pm and was received by Governor Ortom and
\nother top functionaries of the State Government.<\/p>\n

He visited the Genabe, Makurdi mass grave where the 73 persons killed
\nby suspected Fulani herdsmen in Guma and Logo local government areas
\nof Benue State, were buried. Prayers were offered for the repose of
\nthe souls of the victims by the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof
\nKolapo Olusola.<\/p>\n

Governor Fayose also visited the former Governor of the State, Gabriel
\nSuswan in his residence.<\/p>\n

The governor urged the people of Benue State to be united in prayers,
\nnoting that \u201cwhosoever that is in government during the time of peace,
\nposterity will remember him while those in powers when innocent people
\nare being killed in the most barbaric manner will not be forgotten
\ntoo.<\/p>\n

He advised the people of Benue to \u201cchange vehicle since the present
\nvehicle of change has broken down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding, Governor Ortom thanked Governor Fayose for visiting the
\nState during its trying period.<\/p>\n

He described restructuring of the country as the panacea to this
\npresent maladministration and open bias of the security agencies.<\/p>\n

Governor Ortom said all cattle farmer in the State must embrace cattle
\nranching, declaring that \u201cNo retreat, no surrender on the total
\nimplementation of the State anti-grazing law.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor chided the Police and the Minister of Defense for
\nallowing called strangers to display arms openly and killed people.
\nHe insisted the relocation of the Inspector General of Police (IGP),
\nIbrahim Idris was a ruse, saying \u201cthe IGP came just once and ran back
\nto Abuja insulting me and dancing on the graves of the innocent people
\nof Benue State.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reiterated his called for the IGP\u2019s resignation, describing him as
\na bad influence on the President having turned himself to the
\nmouthpiece and defender of the herdsmen.<\/p>\n

He said the security agencies have allowed herdsmen to take over the
\nbusiness of kidnapping and killings and were being protected by the
\nIGP.<\/p>\n
