Legal consultant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu , Chief Wole Olanipekun, has
\nintensified moves to bribe the Chief Justice of Nigeria , Justice Walter
\nSamuel Onnoghen over the scheduledApril 13, 2018<\/span><\/span>judgment of the
\nSupreme court in a case of submission of false information and fake tax
\ndocuments filed against the governor by a PDP chieftain in the State, Sir
\nFriday<\/span><\/span>Nwosu; Pointblanknews.com learnt.<\/p>\n

Olanipekun, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), notorious for judicial
\nquick fixes especially in political cases, according to sources, have
\nbeen making desperate efforts and pestering Justice Onnoghen and other
\nJustices of the Supreme Court to pervert justice and deliver judgment in
\nthe governors favour.<\/p>\n

The senior lawyer was said to have confided in Justice Onnoghen that he
\nhad been paid a N2 billion legal consultancy fee by the governor, and is
\nprepared to give him N1 billion from the money in addition to what the
\nSupreme Court would collect from the governor if he is favoured in the
\nruling.<\/p>\n

However, the CJN who is a friend to Olanipekun, reportedly scolded him for
\npestering him to pervert justice because of their relationship.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the CJN had chased away the senior
\nlawyer and warned him to stop pestering over Ikpeazus case, stressing
\nthat he would not want to soil his reputation to satisfy a friend.<\/p>\n

Olanipekun has reportedly been boasting that though the CJN was yet to
\naccept to work with them, but it will be difficult for him to ignore the
\npressure they are mounting on him.<\/p>\n

Olanipekun and other counsel to the governor had reportedly warned him
\nthat he should seek a political solution to the matter or find a way to
\nreach the Supreme Court as they may not ignore the obvious false
\ninformation and other inconsistencies in his tax documents submitted to
\nINEC.<\/p>\n

Worried by Onnoghens reluctance to play ball and deliver judgment in
\nfavour of Ikpeazu, Olanipekun had contacted a close associate of the CJN
\nin Calabar and has started working through him to reach Onnoghen and make
\nhim accept to work and rally the Supreme Court to deliver justice in
\nfavour of the governor.<\/p>\n

Lots of attempts are on going to bribe and diabolically mislead the
\nSupreme Court to deliver judgment to the governor. In fact, a member of
\nthe House of Assembly is said to have undertaken to mobilize marabouts to
\nseek for alternate spiritual means to get the Supreme Court rule in the
\nGovernor’s favour.<\/p>\n
