Kogi State Government has offered N5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira) as
\nreward to anybody who can volunteered information leading to the arrest of
\nthose who terrorised and killed people in Ojuwo Ajamgbe and Agbenema in
\nDekina and Omala Local government areas of the State.<\/p>\n
A statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the
\nGovernor, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo, said the government is immensely
\nsaddened by the attack yesterday afternoon on Agbenema, a peaceful
\ncommunity in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State by mercenaries
\nreportedly working for herdsmen in the area. The statement confirmed that
\na total of three persons were killed, including Chief Musa Edibo, the Onu
\nof Agbenema.<\/p>\n
Fanwo further stated that other persons were also injured and are
\ncurrently hospitalised and are responding to treatment.<\/p>\n
“On a happier note and contrary to trending reports by all sections of the
\nmedia, the wife of the murdered traditional chief was neither injured nor
\nkilled. Though advanced in age and battling age-related ailments, she
\ninteracted extensively with our officials who paid a condolence visit to
\nthe community today,” he stated.<\/p>\n
He said intelligence reports showed that the attackers at Agbenema on the
\nafternoon of Monday, 19th March, 2018 appear to be the same group which
\nattacked Ojuwo Ajamgbe, near Oganenigu in Dekina Local Government Area 5
\ndays earlier.<\/p>\n
“The Kogi State Government and the security services are sparing neither
\nexpense nor effort to track down these murderers and ensure justice is
\nserved.<\/p>\n
“We once again reiterate our total commitment as a Government to the
\nsecurity of lives and properties in the State protection extends to all
\npeaceful and law-abiding citizens and residents, irrespective of religion
\nor tribe.<\/p>\n
