The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned President Muhammadu
\nBuhari over his call for the annulment of Chief John Oyegun\u2019s tenure
\nextension as National Chairman of the party.<\/p>\n
President Buhari, it would be recalled, had advised the ruling APC to
\nnullify the extension of tenure for the National Working Committee (NWC)
\nof the party.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn my own part, I have taken some time to review and seek advice on the
\nresolution and what I have found is that it contravenes our party
\nconstitution and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,\u201d the
\npresident had said at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the
\nparty that held on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
But speaking to journalists after the NEC meeting, National Publicity
\nSecretary of the APC, Abdullahi Bolaji, said the president was entitled to
\nhis opinion.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know that any issue that goes to court is sub-judicial. Then, that
\nalso presented its own complications so the NEC decided to set up a small
\nteam that will advise the party on the way forward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a technical committee that is looking at it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the moment, there is no decision taken.
