Angry constituents Saturday stoned Hon Garba Hamman Julde, a member of the<\/p>\n
House of Reps representing Bali-Gassol Federal constituency of Taraba<\/p>\n
state.<\/p>\n
Citing failed representation and abandonment of his constituents for more<\/p>\n
than two years, the constituents vent their anger after the lawmaker<\/p>\n
presented 11 motorcycles and one car to ward executives and local<\/p>\n
government chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bali LGA of<\/p>\n
the state.<\/p>\n

An eye witness told reporters that the lawmaker escaped with minor bruises<\/p>\n
before he was whisked away by Policemen on duty at the venue of the event,<\/p>\n
which held in Central Primary School, Bali.<\/p>\n

The eye witness, Musa Sandirde, said: \u201cTrouble started after he ended his<\/p>\n
speech at the rostrum and was making way to present key of the motorcycles<\/p>\n
to the beneficiaries. There and then, some youths started chanting \u2018ba mu<\/p>\n
so\u2019 in Hausa while at the same time throwing sand, stones and sachets of<\/p>\n
pure water at him. Police then quickly intervened and moved him to<\/p>\n
safety,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He added that the constituents expressed their displeasure at the manner<\/p>\n
of Julde\u2019s representation and vowed to ensure he did not return to the<\/p>\n
parliament again in 2019.<\/p>\n

A party executive at Bali LGA, Ibrahim Daka, added: \u00a0\u201cHe has completely<\/p>\n
abandoned the people that sent him to Abuja. For more than two years, he<\/p>\n
went missing, only for him to show up this weekend to say he was<\/p>\n
presenting eleven motorcycles and one car to ward and LGA party chairmen.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cHe did that because election is here and they are the people who will<\/p>\n
serve as delegates to elect party fag bearers again. But the people he<\/p>\n
abandoned turned against him and showed their anger. How can you abandon<\/p>\n
the people and come here to give bicycles to a few people?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not happy with him and we made our position clear to him,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Already, a plan to hold similar exercise in Mutum Biyu, Gassol LGA, has<\/p>\n
been shelved for fear of breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Efforts to speak with Julde and his legislative aides proved abortive as<\/p>\n
none of them responded to calls or text messages sent to their phones.<\/p>\n
