Insists FG Has No Case Against PDP<\/p>\n
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the Presidency and the All
\nProgressives Congress (APC) have failed in their ploy to use their
\nso-called looters lists to divert public discourse from the raging
\nquestions on their numerous scandals, manifest sleazes and overall
\nfailures in governance.<\/p>\n
The PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola
\nOlogbondiyan, on Tuesday, said the nation has now seen that the Federal
\nGovernment has no case against the PDP, as the lists only have
\nindividuals who are not indicted or convicted for corruption, some of
\nwho are not even members of the PDP.<\/p>\n
It is now a notorious fact that the whole essence of the flimsy and
\ncontemptible lists was to cause public misperception, change the
\ntopic, and divert international and national discourse from various
\nserious issues including;<\/p>\n
1. The parlous state of the nations economy caused by President
\nMuhammadu Buharis misrule, for which Nigerians are now resorting to
\nvices, including slavery and suicide as options.<\/p>\n
2. The intensive global vote of no confidence on President Buhari-led
\nAPC-government, particularly on its painful anti-people policies, as
\npresented in damning verdicts by international figures, the latest being
\nthe world renowned Bill Gates.<\/p>\n
3. The vote of no confidence on the Buhari administration by eminent
\nstatesmen, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former military
\nPresident Ibrahim Babangida and former minister of defence and ex-chief
\nof army staff, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, who also indicted this
\nadministration of failure to protect the citizens.<\/p>\n
4. The international interest over speculations of conspiracy theorem on
\nthe alleged manipulation of security in the abduction and return of the
\nDapchi schoolgirls for which Amnesty International (AI) has called for
\nan open inquest.<\/p>\n
5. The international embarrassment over alleged procurement of the
\nMartin Luther King Jr Award for President Buhari, which has now
\nattracted global opprobrium to our dear nation and entire citizenry.<\/p>\n
6. The Transparency International (TI) latest verdict, indicting the
\nBuhari-led government of superintending over the spiraling of corruption
\nin Nigeria in the last three years.<\/p>\n
7. Efforts by the Buhari Presidency to conceal the N9 trillion corrupt
\noil contracts at the NNPC, alleged stealing of N1.1 trillion worth of
\ncrude oil, looting of N18 billion Internally Displaced Persons (IDP)
\nintervention fund and the stealing of N10 billion National Health
\nInsurance Scheme (NHIS), all by APC officials and Presidency cabal.<\/p>\n
8. The public resentment that trailed President Buharis last weeks
\nvisit to Lagos as well as his embarrassment at the National Mosque last
\nFriday, where worshippers demonstrated their resentments to his
\nadministration and almost resorted to near mob action.<\/p>\n
These are issues that cannot be swept under the carpet using any ploy
\nwhatsoever.<\/p>\n
While we still challenge the APC to name any members of the repositioned
\nand rebranded PDP convicted for corruption, we wish to remind them that
\nour three-day ultimatum to explain the source of looted fund to finance
\nPresident Buharis 2015 campaign still subsist and no amount of
\nblackmail or intimidation can stop Nigerians from holding the
\ndysfunctional APC accountable.<\/p>\n
