The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the recent
\nstage-managed political endorsement by the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) and the Buhari Presidency, by procuring individuals who
\nmasqueraded as religious leaders, as hypocritical and disgusting signs
\nof desperation.<\/p>\n
It said the Buhari Presidency’s hiring of supposed Arewa Pastors was a
\nsecond attempt to orchestrate fake endorsements ahead of the 2019
\nelection, recalling the recent Martin Luther King Jr. saga<\/p>\n
PDP said both procured endorsements, which had turned out to be fake,
\nare, to say the least, despicable and betray the nervousness of a
\nsinking leadership, desperately trying to save its face, having been
\nrejected by the people.<\/p>\n
It is heartrending that because of the desperation of one man, the
\nintegrity of Nigeria\u2019s seat of power has again been ridiculed as the
\nworld watched religious bodies and groups in the country disowning the
\nprocured band.<\/p>\n
The fact that this disgraceful drama came barely a week after our nation
\nsuffered an international show of shame over President Buhari\u2019s
\npresentation with a procured award fraudulently linked to Martin Luther
\nKing Jr, speaks volumes of this administration\u2019s proclivity for
\nfalsehood, lies and deception.<\/p>\n
Having failed to gain any endorsements from reputable international
\nfigures, such as Bill Gates and the Martin Luther Kings Jr group, the
\nAPC and the Presidency have now shamelessly resorted to cheaper ways and
\nmeans, particularly, along the unregulated and porous religious and
\nsectional lines.<\/p>\n
It is now overtly manifest that the Buhari administration is ready to
\neven stage anything, no matter how ignoble, including fake rescue
\nmissions, to deceive Nigerians.<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that the PDP had earlier alerted Nigerians of plots
\nby the Federal Government to engage in orchestrated endorsements as well
\nas issuing of false performance indices.<\/p>\n
These disgraceful endorsements are being coordinated by three
\npresidential aides, a cabinet minister from the southsouth and certain
\nofficials of the APC, a project for which billions of naira have been
\nearmarked.<\/p>\n
This cabal is also responsible for the renting of crowds, who are
\nusually conveyed in buses, trucks and trailers, to fill the space during
\nPresident Buhari\u2019s visits to various states of the federation, as
\nwitnessed in Benue during the last visit of Mr. President.<\/p>\n
That President Buhari could be begging for endorsements only points to
\nthe fact that he and his cabal have lost the support of Nigerians whom
\nhis administration has subjected to horrible economic hardships,
\ntraumatic bloodletting and a bleak future.<\/p>\n
If President Buhari and his dysfunctional APC had performed to the least
\nexpectations of Nigerians, even by implementing the littlest of their
\nnumerous fake campaign promises, they would have no need for mundane
\ngimmicks of procuring awards from well known street quacks ahead of the
\nelections.<\/p>\n
We charge all credible groups in the country to be at alert and resist
\nany attempt by the Presidency and APC to induce them to compromise their
\nintegrity, as well as guide against plots to use money to infiltrate and
\ndivide their ranks.<\/p>\n
The APC and Buhari Presidency must admit that their time is up as
\nNigerians are now rallying with the repositioned PDP in the national
\nquest to rescue our dear nation from the incompetent, failed and
\ndeceptive administration of the APC, come 2019.<\/p>\n
