Tension and desperation seems to have enveloped the Abia State Government
\nHouse as the Supreme Court is set to rule on the case of submission of
\nfalse information and fake tax document brought against Governor Okezie
\nIkpeazu by Sir\u00a0Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Nwosu on\u00a0April 13, 2018<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

To this end, former Military Vice President, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Osun
\nSate Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his Ogun state counterpart,
\nSenator Ibikunle Amosu, have allegedly been enlisted by Governor Ikpeazu
\nto intensified efforts to compromise the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice
\nWalter Onnoghen and other Justices of the Supreme Court to save his job
\nand political career, Pointblanknews.com can reveal.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court through a panel headed by Justice Olabode Rhodes -Vivour
\nhad fixed\u00a0April 13 2018<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to deliver judgment on the 2015 pre election
\nmatter.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com learnt that Ikpeazu had engaged the retired naval
\nofficer who hails from Abiriba in Abia State, Amosu and Aregbesola to
\napproach and negotiate with some Justices of the Supreme Court, one by
\none.<\/p>\n

Last Friday night, Ukiwe and the two APC governors were engaged in a
\nnocturnal meeting at the Abia State Government House, Umuahia, till the
\nearly hours of\u00a0Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0morning, seeking how to help the governor get a
\nfavourable verdict from the apex court.<\/p>\n

Amosu and Aregbesola had earlier arrived Umuahia under the pretext of
\nattending the funeral ceremony of the mother of an APC chieftain in Abia
\nState.<\/p>\n

On Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0evening, Ukiwe, Ikpeazu and the two APC governors were still
\nengaged in the meeting when news reports filtered into the online media
\nabout the ongoing meeting. Embarrassed by the development, they drove out
\nof the Government House and could not take their foods and drinks.<\/p>\n

On Sunday<\/span><\/span>, the former military vice president appeared to have reduced
\nhimself to an errand boy for Ikpeazu. Sources told Pointblanknews.com that
\nas early as\u00a08am<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Sunday<\/span><\/span>; Ukiwe was at the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri to
\nreceive the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Raji Fashola who was on
\nhis way to Umuahia for\u00a0 an official assignment.<\/p>\n

When Fashola arrived Umuahia, he met with his friends, Aregbesola and
\nAmosu, but declined accommodation reserved for him at the presidential
\nwing of the Abia Government House and avoided the nocturnal meeting of his
\nkinsmen, Ukiwe and Ikpeazu.<\/p>\n

The minister rather booked accommodation at the Hotel Royal Damgrete,
\nUmuahia, from where he inspected some ongoing federal government projects
\nin the state.<\/p>\n

Desperate to save his seat, Ikpeazu had opened Abia\u2019s treasury, doling out
\nmoney and properties to anyone or group who claims to have access to
\nJustice Onnoghen and other Justices of the apex court.<\/p>\n

The governor had engaged the Director General of the Department of State
\nSecurity (DSS), Lawal Daura\u00a0 and the Attorney General and Minister for
\nJustice, Abubakar Malami, to intimidate the CJN to award judgment to
\nIkpeazu, but this appears not to be bearing fruit as Justice Onnoghen has
\nrefused to play ball. Lawal allegedly got an imposing mansion at Asokoro,
\nAbuja, from the Abia governor.<\/p>\n

Ikpeazu\u2019s legal consultant, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) had made several
\nmoves to compromise the CJN and other justices of the Supreme Court with a
\nmassive financial war chest from Ikpeazu, all to no avail.<\/p>\n

The CJN has reportedly refused to see anybody concerning the Abia state
\ngovernorship case, insisting on serving justice; a development which is
\nsaid to be giving Ikpeazu sleepless nights.<\/p>\n

However, close aides of the embattled Governor have been jubilating and
\nboasting around Umuahia that since the CJN have become very stubborn, they
\nhave succeeded in reaching the panel and have been assured of victory.<\/p>\n

When contacted, Commodore Ukiwe did not respond to calls or text messages
\nsent to his phone.<\/p>\n

But Spokesman to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Mr. Semiu Okanlanwon, told
\nPointblanknews.com that the Governor would never be part of any deal or
\nmeeting to subvert the course of justice.<\/p>\n

“I can assure you that Governor Aregbesola would not be part of any
\nmeeting or gathering that seeks to subvert justice,” Okanlanwon told
