The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges President Muhammadu Buhari<\/div>\n
to use the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which opens<\/div>\n
on Monday, to inform other world leaders of the depressing state<\/div>\n
of affairs in Nigeria under his watch.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We urge President Buhari to resist the temptation of seeking to impress<\/div>\n
world leaders with false performance indices, but should present the<\/div>\n
real situation, particularly the pitiable state of our economy,<\/div>\n
escalated insecurity, human rights abuses, daily bloodletting,<\/div>\n
persecution of opposition and erosion of democratic values in the last<\/div>\n
three years.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
President Buhari should not forget to inform CHOGM that back home, there<\/div>\n
is a national indignation and general vote of no confidence against his<\/div>\n
administration for its abysmal performance and failure to<\/div>\n
fulfill the littlest in the long list of bogus promises they made<\/div>\n
during the 2015 Presidential campaign.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
President Buhari should inform other world leaders that due to the harsh<\/div>\n
economic policies and gross incompetence of his administration,<\/div>\n
our once robust economy, internationally rated as one of the fasted<\/div>\n
growing in the world and one of the best investment destinations,<\/div>\n
collapsed in his hands and went into a recession; that infrastructures<\/div>\n
are collapsing and that all sectors of public and private lives are now<\/div>\n
in shambles.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He should not forget to tell the world that not only has he failed in<\/div>\n
his false promise to increase the value of naira from N1 to 1USD, his<\/div>\n
government has wrecked our currency from N160-N170 it met it in 2015 to<\/div>\n
a devastating N350-N400, with attendant horrible pressure on the<\/div>\n
economy.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Mr. President should not forget to inform CHOGM that under his<\/div>\n
administration, more than 16 million Nigerians became unemployed, 18<\/div>\n
million more became underemployed while another 27.44 million refused to<\/div>\n
work in 2016 for various reasons not unrelated to frustration in<\/div>\n
the polity.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Our dear President, who is already seeking re-election, should not<\/div>\n
forget to tell the world that due to his harsh policies, the middle<\/div>\n
class has been wiped off, families are in distress; hunger, poverty and<\/div>\n
strange diseases are now ravaging our people to the extent that<\/div>\n
Nigerians, once considered the happiest people on earth, are now<\/div>\n
resorting to slavery<\/div>\n
and suicide as options.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
President Buhari should not shy away from informing the world that his<\/div>\n
administration has failed in guaranteeing the safety of lives and<\/div>\n
property; that under his watch, our dear nation has become one of the<\/div>\n
most insecure countries to live in; bloodletting, violent attacks and<\/div>\n
sectorial crisis have become the order of the day; insurgents and<\/div>\n
marauders are having field day pillaging innocent citizens while our<\/div>\n
land has practically transformed into a large funeral palour.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Furthermore, President Buhari must tell the world that he has woefully<\/div>\n
failed in his much touted fight against corruption; that his<\/div>\n
administration is merely engaged in personal vendetta, direct<\/div>\n
persecution and media trial of opposition members, while known corrupt<\/div>\n
persons in the All Progressives Congress (APC) continue to enjoy<\/div>\n
official cover of his Presidency.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He should not forget to confess that his administration has done nothing<\/div>\n
about the Presidency cabal involved in the alleged stealing of N9<\/div>\n
trillion ($25billion dollars) in NNPC and billions of naira National<\/div>\n
Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP)<\/div>\n
intervention funds.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We therefore urge Mr. President not to allow his handlers to mislead him<\/div>\n
to colour his presentation at CHOGM as such will detract from his<\/div>\n
integrity as a leader.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As for us in the repositioned PDP, we will continue to stand with<\/div>\n
Nigerians in their collective quest to end the APC misrule and return<\/div>\n
the nation to path of truth, national cohesion and economic<\/div>\n
