ADP Tells President Buhari"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">The Action Democratic Party (ADP) says its attention has been drawn to the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">comments of president Muhammadu Buhari at the CHOGM held in London where<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">the president described Nigerian youths as lazy and those who want to sit<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">down and do nothing because they feel that Nigeria is an oil producing<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">nation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The ADP Publicity Secretary in Lagos, Prince Adelaja Adeoye, speaking<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">during the commissioning of the party&#8217;s secretariat in Alimosho on<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Thursday, said that he is shocked that a president of a country can make<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">such derogatory remarks about his fellow citizens; citizens that he swore<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">an oath to make lives better for.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He said that, at such a stage, it is expected of the president to use the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">opportunity to woo investors, clearly stating that our youths are equipped<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">with skills that can help them make the best out of their investment but<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">instead, our president decided to take a swipe at our young and vibrant<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">population.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The party says that a country is assessed not by their old men but by<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">their youths who are the strength and the builders of the said country.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Adelaja also says that he is a youth and has seen how his fellow youths<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">work menial jobs, put themselves through school and create wealth for<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">themselves in a choking business environment like that of Nigeria<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">presently under Buhari.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He argues further that for a man who has supervised the loss of over 10<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">million jobs since 2015, the comments are even more insulting. &#8220;I have<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">never seen any group of people anywhere in the world more determined to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">make it against all odds than our youths,&#8221; Adelaja said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The ADP says that it is proud of the Nigerian youth and what they have<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">been able to achieve thus far even without the least support from<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">government noting that Nigerian youths are shining examples all over<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Africa and the world. The party says that it is proud of the exploits of<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">the Nigerian youths in business, showbiz, entertainment, sports,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">education, music and every other sector where they have held their own.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The party says that this is why their focus is on the Nigerian youths who<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">are the actual builders of any society.
