dir=\"ltr\">official working visit to the United States of America, on the invitation<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">of President Donald Trump.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">President Buhari will have bilateral meeting with President Trump and a<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">working lunch on Monday 30th April 2018.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The meeting is to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">between the two countries and to advance shared priorities, such as:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">promoting economic growth, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">and security.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The meeting will further deepen the US-Nigeria relationship as the United<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">States considers Nigeria\u2019s economic growth, security and leadership in<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Africa to be critical aspects of their strategic partnership.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Later in the day, President Buhari will meet with a group of business<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">persons in agriculture and agro-processing, dairy and animal husbandry.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Ahead of the visit by President Buhari, meetings have been scheduled on<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">26th and 27th April, 2018, between senior Nigerian Government officials<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">and executives of major US companies in the areas of agriculture, aviation<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">and transportation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">In the area of aviation, the Nigerian officials will be meeting with<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Boeing, the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, on the National<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Carrier Project.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">On agriculture, they will meet with large equipment manufacturers with<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">focus on harvesting and post harvesting equipment.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">In the area of transportation, the officials will meet with the GE-led<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">consortium for the implementation of the interim phase of the narrow gauge<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">rail concession.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">In the interim phase, a substantive concession agreement will be<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">negotiated and finalized to provide the consortium the opportunity to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">invest an estimated $2bn, to modernize the rail line from Lagos to Kano<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">(Western Line) and from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri (Eastern Line).\u00a0 During<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">the meeting, the concession framework and the interim phase framework<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">agreements are expected to be signed.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The Nigerian officials will also meet with US-EXIM Bank and the US<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Overseas Private Investment Corporation to explore competitive financing<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">arrangements.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">It is noteworthy that in 2017, Nigeria\u2019s Federal Ministry of Industry,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Trade and Investment and the United States Department of Commerce signed a<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Memorandum of Understanding to promote and encourage commercial and<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">investment ties between Nigeria and the United States, with initial focus<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">on infrastructure, agriculture, digital economy, investment and regulatory<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">reforms.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"H_7jIs D_F ab_C Q_69H5 E_36RhU\" data-test-id=\"toolbar-hover-area\">\n<div class=\"D_F W_6D6F r_BN gl_C\"
