{"id":61969,"date":"2018-04-29T22:03:03","date_gmt":"2018-04-29T21:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=61969"},"modified":"2018-04-29T22:03:03","modified_gmt":"2018-04-29T21:03:03","slug":"n6bn-for-convention-stop-lying-to-nigerians-pdp-tells-apc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/n6bn-for-convention-stop-lying-to-nigerians-pdp-tells-apc\/","title":{"rendered":"N6bn For Convention: Stop Lying To Nigerians, PDP Tells APC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-test-id=\"message-view-body\">\n<div class=\"msg-body P_wpofO iy_A\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body-content\">\n<div class=\"jb_0 X_6MGW N_6Fd5\">\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the All Progressives Congress<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">(APC) to stop lying to Nigerians after its governors have been busted<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">for diverting N6bn meant for the development of states under their<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">control\u00a0 to finance their forthcoming national convention.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">APC is corrupt. Our investigation reveals that many of the APC governors<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">are being coerced under the orders of the Presidency and the leadership<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">of the party to move in huge sums of money in cash into the APC coffers,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">bulk of which have already been frittered away by corrupt leaders in the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">party and agents of the Presidency.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">More saddening is that the money is being pulled from funds derived from<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">federal bailouts and other monies budgeted for critical development<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">projects in various communities, many of which have now been stalled,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">leaving the people deprived and impoverished.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">It is appalling that this is the same party and administration that have<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">been accusing others of corruption and publishing fabricated \u2018looters\u2019<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">lists\u2019 just to deceive Nigerians and divert public attention from their<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">sleazes.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">We challenge the APC to publish the names of the governors, ministers<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">and other APC political office holders, who have already brought in<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">money as well as inform the nation on why they are moving the money in<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">cash contrary to financial regulations, if the source is not proceeds of<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">corrupt activities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Up till now, the APC and President Buhari, even in their self-acclaimed<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">transparency and integrity, have refused to open up on the source of<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">funds for their very expensive 2015 presidential campaign, which have<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">been revealed to have been stolen from states under their control. This<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">time, they are again coercing governors to steal money meant for<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">development and payment of salaries to finance their 2019 campaign.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">What many Nigerians are yet to know is that the APC actually plans to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">rake in a total of N14 billion from government coffers, out of which it<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">has already planned to procure expensive cars for their national<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">officers as well as share to their leaders close to President Buhari.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Our inquest shows that the N671 million recently reported to have been<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">stolen from APC account by some national officers who allegedly moved<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">the sum to their private accounts is linked to diverted public funds.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">There is documentary evidence and the APC has failed to offer<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">explanations to Nigeria on that.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The APC reeks and is completely guilty as it reasonably ought to have<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">known that the funds it has been receiving form part of illegal<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">activities of government officials who have been diverting funds from<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">states and government agencies, particularly the Nigeria National<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Petroleum Corporation and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">fund the wasteful lifestyle of their party leaders and the 2019<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">re-election bid.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">On our own part, the reformed and re-branded PDP, as a political party,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">remains open and we challenge the APC to declare same.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The APC must end this lame attempt to hide its seething corruption and<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">make haste to refund the diverted funds.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"jb_0 X_6MGW N_6Fd5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"H_7jIs D_F ab_C Q_69H5 E_36RhU\" data-test-id=\"toolbar-hover-area\">\n<div class=\"D_F W_6D6F r_BN gl_C\" data-test-id=\"card-toolbar\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop lying to Nigerians after its governors have been busted for diverting N6bn meant for the development of&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":61970,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-61969","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
