1.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 As you are all aware, on Monday April 30, 2018, the BBC broadcast a<\/div>\n
documentary on the abuse of codeine syrup in Nigeria, especially in the<\/div>\n
Northern states. In the said documentary, one of our products, Emzolyn with<\/div>\n
Codeine, was featured.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 On the 2nd of May, NAFDAC officials from the Investigation and<\/div>\n
enforcement directorate, conducted an inspection of our factory and were<\/div>\n
given full access to all the records they requested.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
3.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We are happy to announce that after carrying out all necessary due<\/div>\n
diligence, NAFDAC has now reopened the factory.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
4.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 As parents and especially a Mother, I am deeply saddened by the<\/div>\n
problem of drug abuse and its damaging effect on our children and youths.<\/div>\n
Even more painful is the fact that a genuine therapeutic product, made for<\/div>\n
the relief of a specific illness, has been turned into a substance of abuse.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
5.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We commend the Federal Government and the relevant agencies and<\/div>\n
NAFDAC for their prompt response to what is a serious matter of deep<\/div>\n
concern to all Nigerians. We also commend the Federal Ministry of Health<\/div>\n
for their prompt response as all Nigerians called for action towards<\/div>\n
controlling the situation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
6.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 NAFDAC, after their inspections are satisfied that our<\/div>\n
manufacturing processes conform to all laid down procedure and we are a<\/div>\n
fully compliant company. Our company has been consistently compliant and we<\/div>\n
have valid Good Manufacturing Practice certifications.<\/div>\n

multi-agency discussions on the way forward that are sure to follow in the<\/div>\n
days and months ahead. From the limited depiction of rehabilitation efforts<\/div>\n
represented in the BBC programme, there is room for much support and<\/div>\n
improvement in the treatment and rehabilitation of persons affected by<\/div>\n
addiction.<\/div>\n

As an organization we will continue to contribute to this vital aspect of<\/div>\n
managing the problem and securing the National treasure that is our youth.<\/div>\n
We are pleased that the Federal Government plans to solicit the involvement<\/div>\n
of organizations with positive impact on youth culture such as the Nigerian<\/div>\n
Football Federation. Emzor has been a proud sponsor of the Super Eagles as<\/div>\n
well as the male and female national football teams at all levels over the<\/div>\n
last four years and will continue to support the use of their influence in<\/div>\n
promoting positive behaviour and a strong sense of National pride in our<\/div>\n
