{"id":62235,"date":"2018-05-17T19:45:31","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T18:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=62235"},"modified":"2018-05-17T19:45:31","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T18:45:31","slug":"buhari-escaped-being-killed-for-mutiny-stole-presidency-fani-kayode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/buhari-escaped-being-killed-for-mutiny-stole-presidency-fani-kayode\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari Escaped Being Killed For Mutiny, Stole Presidency-Fani-Kayode"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">Former Minister of Aviation and Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Mr<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Femi Fani-Kayode has said that in 1983 President Muhammadu Buhari stole<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">the presidency and that he should count himself lucky he would have been<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">killed for military insurrection, mutiny and treason.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">President Buhari speaking on Tuesday had vowed never to allow history to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">repeat itself like during his term as military Head of State when<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">corruption fought and defeated as well as incarcerated him.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Buhari, who narrated how he was detained for three years after losing the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">first battle against corruption in August 1985, however, assured that the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">current crusade against corruption would be fought steadfastly.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Buhari had maintained that, \u201cwe never intended, and we are not engaged in<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">witch-hunts, but we are determined within the laws to call people to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">account\u2019\u2019. \u201cI do not like to start with digression, but it has become<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">relevant here because of recent a renowned citizen of this country said<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">this government promises to fight corruption but he is warning us that<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">corruption will continue to fight back. I\u2019m sure this he meant it for the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">rest of the country not for me because my first attempt to fight<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">corruption, corruption fought back successfully.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI was removed as Head of State, detained for three years. Those that we<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">put (as members of) committees to investigate for abusing office they were<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">given whatever they had misappropriated and I remained in detention until<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">a journalist from Edo state said \u201cMy mother had to die to safe me from<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">detention because I was only released when my mother died after three<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">years.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSo, in spite of that my objective of fighting corruption remains<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">steadfast,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">But Fani-Kayode on his Twitter handle said \u2018Yesterday @MBuhari lamented<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">about how he was detained for 3 years in 1985 for \u201cfighting corruption\u201d.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He forgot that he staged a coup d\u2019etat in 1983, toppled a<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">democratically-elected govt. and STOLE the Presidency and entire treasury.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">What could be more corrupt than that? \u2018\u2026 If his coup had failed he would<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">have been court-martialled, tied to the stake and shot for military<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">insurrection, mutiny and treason and not just put under house arrest for 3<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">years.
