Adedayo Adeyeye, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),<\/div>\n
has announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC),<\/div>\n
calling Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State \u201can impossible person to<\/div>\n
deal with\u201d and \u201ca pompous martinet with a huge ego\u201d.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Adeyeye, a governorship aspirant, contested the Ekiti PDP governorship<\/div>\n
primary in May but lost the ticket to Kolapo Olusola, Fayose\u2019s deputy.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Releasing a statement on Tuesday, Adeyeye said although leaving the PDP<\/div>\n
\u201cwas not an easy decision to make\u201d, he was forced to make a choice between<\/div>\n
loyalty to a political party and loyalty to my community, and he<\/div>\n
eventually chose the latter.<\/div>\n

\u201cExpectedly patriotic leaders of the party appealed to me to reconsider my<\/div>\n
decision in the light of my previous services and loyalty to the party.<\/div>\n
But the issue was never about me as a person,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cIt was about the interest of the very many people who associate with me<\/div>\n
and more importantly the collective interest and future of Ekiti people.<\/div>\n
For me politics has always been an opportunity to serve and make<\/div>\n
contribution towards the development of my community and the nation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cTherefore where I am compelled to make a choice between loyalty to a<\/div>\n
political party and loyalty to my community, l will readily choose my<\/div>\n
community or state. Political parties come and go but the community<\/div>\n
remains. I cannot change my state or hometown but I can always change my<\/div>\n
party if I feel that it can no longer serve as a vehicle for our<\/div>\n
collective good as a people.<\/div>\n

\u201cAs a thoroughbred Ekiti person with a deep love of this land and the<\/div>\n
people It is incumbent on me to resist and stop the evil agenda of one man<\/div>\n
to put our people in perpetual enslavement. I have said No to Fayose\u2019s<\/div>\n
continuity of dictatorship, impunity, imposition, poverty, unprecedented<\/div>\n
looting of our common patrimony and deliberate debasement of the<\/div>\n
self-esteem of our people.<\/div>\n

\u201cFor my friends, admirers, patrons and well-wishers I want to reiterate<\/div>\n
that Fayose is an impossible person to deal with. A pompous martinet with<\/div>\n
a huge ego ,he is deliberately divisive and deceitful. He does not believe<\/div>\n
in reconciliation and no effort at reconciliation will work with him.<\/div>\n

\u201cTherefore after deep introspection and wide consultation with various<\/div>\n
stakeholders in this State, my supporters and I have decided to leave<\/div>\n
Egypt which the Fayose administration represents and join hands with<\/div>\n
patriotic Ekiti people to board the train of the APC for the onward<\/div>\n
journey to our promised land.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe are joining forces with eminent Ekiti sons and daughters to free our<\/div>\n
land from the Vulture and predator feeding fat on our common wealth. We<\/div>\n
want to set our land free and never again shall we entrust our land unto<\/div>\n
the hands of unknown person with unverifiable pedigree to ride roughshod<\/div>\n
on our people.\u201d<\/div>\n
