The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s
\nsubmission that the 2018 budget, signed by him, will be near
\nun-implementable, is a clear admission that he lacks the capacity and
\ncompetence to run a development-oriented economy as desired by
\nNigerians.<\/p>\n
Nigerians and the business community worldwide were stunned when our
\ndear President, in his speech, while signing the budget, exhibited
\nunpardonable ignorance of the dynamics of international best practices
\nin macroeconomics management, an indication that our economy is in very
\nbad hands.<\/p>\n
President Buhari, in picking holes on items that would directly impact
\non economic productivity, infrastructural advancement, rural development
\nas well as those that would provide urgent palliatives to the plights of
\nNigerians, shows his aversion to developmental economy as well as
\ninsensitivity to the welfare of our citizens.<\/p>\n
In fact, President Buhari, in his comments on the budget has further
\nde-marketed our economy before international investors, thereby
\nworsening our woes as a nation.<\/p>\n
How on earth can a President, if indeed he loves the people, quarrel
\nover budgetary items seeking to cushion the biting effect of the
\neconomic recession, particularly for the poor, who are the direct
\nvictims of the harsh policies of his incompetent administration?<\/p>\n
Furthermore, President Buhari\u2019s resort to blaming the National Assembly
\nfor his inability to exert himself as a leader and ensure smooth
\nimplementation of the budget, further shows that he cares little about
\nthe actual needs of the people, having holed in himself in the comfort,
\nsecurity and pleasures of the Presidential villa.<\/p>\n
Finally, the PDP urges the National Assembly to ensure strict
\nimplementation of the 2018 budget.<\/p>\n
The party also calls on all Nigerians to save our dear nation from this
\nofficial lethargy by rallying on the platform of the repositioned PDP
\nand voting out President Buhari and his anti-people All Progressives
\nCongress (APC), come 2019.<\/p>\n
