Timi Frank, former National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party
\n(PDP), says if the aggrieved nPDP leaves the All Progressive Congress
\n(APC), the ruling party will crumble.<\/p>\n
Frank said this in response to President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s rejection of a
\nrequest for a meeting by nPDP leaders.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have not been formally communicated. We read it on the pages of
\nnewspapers like everyone else,” he said.<\/p>\n
“If it is true \u2014 because there has not been a denial [from the Presidency]
\n\u2014 I want to say that it was this same nonchalant attitude that the former
\nruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, exhibited that led us to leave
\nthe party and the party paid the price.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf today our President decides to say he is going to ignore us, so be it
\nbut I can assure you that we can\u2019t be ignored. Our group is not a group
\nthat anybody can ignore. We have the capacity to make our point.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we leave today, I can assure you the party (APC) will crash. We want
\nto believe that that news is a rumour. I don\u2019t think the President will
\nsay he doesn\u2019t want to see members of his party.\u201d<\/p>\n
The nPDP hasn’t officially responded to the matter yet, as Kawu baraje,
\nits Chairman, and Bukola Saraki, another key leader, are both out of the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
While Baraje is in Saudi Arabia observing Hajj, Saraki is on a state visit
\nto Russia.<\/p>\n
