Former governor of Nasarawa state, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, has labelled
\nthe New R-APC, a splinter group from the All Progressive Congress, APC, as
\nbunch of criminals, 419ners, saying the plan to split the ruling Party
\nwould fail<\/p>\n
“I told you these are people who have got felonies that they are hiding
\nand want to use their positions in the party and National Assembly as a
\nfacade, said Adamu during a visit to National Chairman of the party,
\nComrade Adams Oshiuomhole.<\/p>\n
Senator Adamu who was a former Senate leader said the R-APC only pretends
\nto fight for the people but they are killing the poor, and that they are
\nonly fighting for themselves.<\/p>\n
\u200e\u201dI told you here that the so called nPDP is fake, he said.<\/p>\n
\u201dI told you all the noise about wanting to stay and work for the family of
\nthe APC but they are just trying to create the kind of impression that in
\nAPC they had no deal, nobody in the old PDP that became the new PDP and
\nwent into the accord with the PDP in 2013, nobody stood beneficiary of
\nthat, more than the current Senate President, Bukola Saraki. \u201d<\/p>\n
\u201dHe has benefited more than any single new PDP person and he seems to be
\nthe arrow head of this resistance now or betrayal of the party that
\nelected him to the National Assembly. I thank God I have lived to witness
\nwhat I said come to pass. It is left for you now to follow up to know who
\nwas telling the truth or lying. They did not deserve the attention they
\nwanted because it was not founded on realism, it was not founded on truth,
\nloyalty or patriotism to the country.<\/p>\n
\u201dThe truth is, if Saraki and the rest of them, leaders, today in the
\nnational assembly genuinely feel aggrieved and genuinely want to go out,
\nlet them go out. You don\u2019t push pawns. Nobody who knows the game of chess,
\nwins only by moving pawns, you have got to move the major actors, the
\nkings, the knights, the bishops but these ones have got feet of clay.
\nUnfortunately they don\u2019t threaten anybody here and as far as I am
\nconcerned, we don\u2019t see them as reformed APCs, I think they are rejects.
\nWhy do I say so, we are witnesses to the fact that we held a national
\nconvention.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201dWe started from the unit level, that is where the ballot boxes are, to
\nwards, local governments, zonal to national level and we had a convention.
\nThere was no snide statement from anybody. Three weeks after convention we
\nare hearing some riff-raffs saying that they have formed something called
\nrAPC. You don\u2019t just wake up and form a party or coalition. What is
\nhappening is that those their principals who are in the national assembly
\ndo not want to risk making a declaration so that they do not lose their
\nseats and so they want to justify that there is a split in the APC.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201dThat is what they are trying to do. No more, no less. In my place, they
\nsay before you see a monkey, the monkey has already seen you because it
\nstays on the tree top. \u201cI think without being immodest, I have seen enough
\nNigerian politics thus far and from what we have seen so far, the
\nindication is that we are dealing with 419ners. None of them will stand up
\nto say, oh I was a Senator, I was in the House of Representatives or I was
\nthis. How many of them can go to their constituency and say or do what
\nthey are doing in Abuja? I don\u2019t call them Abuja politicians because they
\ndon\u2019t deserve that, they are just 419ners.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201dWhat is happening today? From the day this Senate was inaugurated, that
\nvery day the current president of the senate went into an illicit accord.
\n\u201cNobody who is democrat will welcome what we are witnessing. The fact of
\nthe matter is out of selfish ambition, out of the desire to promote self
\ninstead of the nation, instead of service we got ourselves in this,
\nwhereby somebody who was contesting for senate presidency found a way of
\ngoing into an illicit alliance, an accord with an opposing party,
\nbetraying the party that elected him there and didn\u2019t say he has left the
\nparty; used the alliance he had with the PDP as it has been and from that
\nthe day, the government which is supposed to be an APC government, the
\nnational assembly became an opposition party. That is a misfortune\u201d, he
\nstated.<\/p>\n
