Dear Ekiti People,<\/p>\n

The day we have all been waiting for is almost here. In less than 24hours
\nfrom now, you will be going to the polling booth nearest to you to
\nexercise your franchise. As a responsible Ekiti person who cares about the
\ndevelopment of Ekiti, you will be expected to carry out your civic
\nresponsibility without favors or compromise.
\nIt is important to note that this election will fundamentally serve as a
\nlitmus test for subsequent elections that will lead up to 2019. The
\ngeneral attitude of the Ekiti people in this election and the general
\nconduct of the electoral umpire; INEC, Political parties, politicians, and
\nthe security agencies will be decisively indicative of what the world
\nshould expect from Nigeria in 2019.
\nAs responsible people of Ekiti with a renowned history of an astral
\nhallmark in education, we urge you to act as a beacon of light to the
\nmillions of Nigerians who are closely watching your attitude to\u00a0tomorrow’s<\/span><\/span>
\ngovernorship election by demonstrating unmatched integrity and firm
\nconviction in what is right. We urge you to be peaceful and vote for the
\ncandidate in whom you are strongly convinced of his capacity, character,
\nand competence, only. We urge you to shun every politician or political
\nparty that offers you money to influence your ballot; they are the real
\nenemies of democracy and good governance.
\nRemember, however, that if you wish to sell your vote, you must insist on
\n864,000Naira as the cost of selling your vote. This is because the minimum
\nwage in Nigeria today is 18,000Naira, and when you multiply 18,000Naira by
\n48months which is the total number of months that constitute a single
\ntenure of a governor, you will arrive at 864,000Naira. You must bear in
\nmind that any politician or political party that gives you less than
\n864,000Naira to influence your ballot is simply trying to shortchange you,
\nand you must ignore them. If you cannot get 864,000Naira as the cost of
\nselling your vote, then do not sell your vote at all. Rather, look for a
\ncandidate that has the capacity, competence, and character of serving you
\nwell and making Ekiti State better for everyone.
\nImportant to note, also, that the OurMumuDonDo Movement is strongly hoping
\nthat the intimidating presence of security forces in Ekiti State will
\ndrastically reduce the excesses of political parties and candidates and
\nnot be used to subvert the electoral process.
\nFinally, the OurMumuDonDo Movement wishes to remind all stakeholders
\ninvolved in\u00a0tomorrow’s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0gubernatorial election that Nigerians are watching,
\nand the world is watching very keenly, too. The electoral umpire; INEC,
\nthe NPF, the Nigerian Army, \u00a0all paramilitary agencies, and all election
\nobservers (local and international) must ensure that\u00a0tomorrow’s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0election
\nin Ekiti is free, fair, and credible.
