Former Borno State governor and one time National Chairman of the Peoples
\nDemocratic Party, PDP, Ali Mode Sheriff has been named as the Director
\nGeneral of President Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Presidential Support Committee.<\/p>\n
The committee consists of a 35-member Support Committee, 10-member
\nNational Advisory Committee and five national patrons with President
\nMuhammadu Buhari as the Grand Patron.<\/p>\n
The Sheriff-led body has personalities like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo,
\nSecretary to Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, Asiwaju Bola
\nAhmed Tinubu and Alhaji Mamman Daura as national patrons.<\/p>\n
Members of the national advisory committee include: Senator M.T Mbu,
\nSenator Yerima Bakura, Senator George Akume, Senator Abdullahi Adamu,
\nSenator Ita Giwa, Hon. Gudaji Kazaure, Hajiya Ireti, Alhaji Ismaila Isa
\nFuntua and Senator Abu Ibrahim.<\/p>\n
Also, a popular Kano musician Dauda Rara was appointed national director
\nof music, while a Nollywood actor and Lagos lawmaker Hon. Desmond Elliot
\nis the national publicity secretary. The Chief of Staff to the Imo State
\ngovernor and governorship aspirant of APC, Uche Ugwumba Nwosu, is the
\nnational secretary.<\/p>\n
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Hon
\nGideon Sammani, who made the disclosure in a statement, said that
\n\u201cprominent individuals were selected after the APC National Convention to
\nbuild on the momentum of the success to step up preparation within the
\nhierarchy and ranks and file of the party to fully support President
\nMuhammadu Buhari to continue with his programmes and policies for the
\nupliftment and advancement of the country with the manifesto of the APC.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn preparation for the reelection of President Buhari in 2019, the
\nPresidential Support Committee, Buhari 2019 has appointed eminent
\nNigerians to the National Working Committee of the organisation.
\n\u201cThe prominent individuals have been selected from Buhari Support Group in
\ntheir own rights as loyalists.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Director-General of Buhari\u2019s 2019 campaign is Chief Rotimi Amaechi,
\nthe former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transport.<\/p>\n
