The Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), Buba
\nGaladima, has said the cosy relationship between President Muhammadu
\nBuhari and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju
\nBola Tinubu, is an afterthought.<\/p>\n
In a tell-all account in the current edition of The Interview magazine, Mr
\nGaladima said he was principally responsible for the alliance between the
\nCongress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria
\n(ACN), against Mr Buhari\u2019s wishes.<\/p>\n
Messrs Buhari and Tinubu were the leaders of CPC and ACN, two of the five
\nlegacy parties that formed the APC in 2014.<\/p>\n
Mr Galadima said, \u201cBuhari was the one against the alliance with Tinubu and
\nI don\u2019t want to say anything. Let Buhari deny what I have said. I was for
\nit and I organised it and wrote a memo that even produced a candidate for
\nthe vice presidency, this same Osinbajo.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Galadima gave a hint that Mr Buhari may have, in fact, pencilled in
\nanother running mate in the INEC form that was to have been submitted.
\nIn a statement, the MD\/Editor-In-Chief of The Interview, Azu Ishiekwene,
\ndescribed the Galadima interview as \u201cthe stuff of a broken love affair,
\nwith no closet details are spared.\u201d<\/p>\n
Using a slogan, \u2018Anybody But Buhari (ABB)\u2019, Mr Galadima said he was
\nplanning to write an open letter to Buhari very soon, adding that the
\npresident was a \u201cfloored candidate\u201d who will lose his deposit if he
\ncontests re-election.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he was raising cattle in Daura, I wouldn\u2019t bother about him. I\u2019m
\ncriticising him because he\u2019s the President of Nigeria and he\u2019s not doing
\nvery well,\u201d Mr Galadima said.<\/p>\n
He did not spare the Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, whom he
\ndescribed as a latter-day Buharist bent on hijacking the ship.<\/p>\n
In the same edition, the Executive President of Women in Africa, Hafsat
\nAbiola-Costello, said she suspects the autopsy conducted on her father,
\nMKO Abiola, was inconclusive, because \u201cnot all poisons can be traced\u201d,
\nlending credence to suspicions that the winner of the June 12, 1993
\npresidential election may have been poisoned in detention.<\/p>\n
Mrs Abiola-Costello shared the last conversation she had with her mother,
\nKudirat, before she was murdered, the impact of her parents\u2019 death on the
\nfamily, and family\u2019s business, among others.<\/p>\n
Also in this edition, the wife of the Kaduna State governor, Hadiza
\nEl-Rufai, talked about her passion and role as wife, mother and first
\nlady, saying, \u201cmy husband is too honest.\u201d<\/p>\n
