President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday assured All Progressives Congress<\/div>\n
(APC) party supporters in Bauchi that his administration will continue to<\/div>\n
work hard to surpass its campaign promises for a better Nigeria.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
President Buhari also told supporters not to be perturbed by the recent<\/div>\n
defections in the party, saying “God will continue to fish out the bad<\/div>\n
eggs among us,” as the 2019 general elections approach.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The President spoke at the commencement of the campaign rally for the<\/div>\n
Bauchi South Senatorial District bye-elections and the formal presentation<\/div>\n
of APC Candidate for the August 11 poll, Hon. Gumau Lawal Yahaya.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
President Buhari told the rally that the APC-led government had remained<\/div>\n
faithful in implementing its campaign promise of improving the economy,<\/div>\n
securing the country, and the fight against corruption.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“The work we are doing is because of God, our country and you. I want to<\/div>\n
inform you that the knowledge we have garnered over the years, we won’t<\/div>\n
allow you to be cheated.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2018\u2018Like we promised, what will determine a good future for the country are<\/div>\n
security, strong economy and to stop corruption.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe campaigned on these things, you voted for us and we will never forget,<\/div>\n
“the President said to a thunderous applause by party supporters at the<\/div>\n
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Endorsing the APC candidate for the senatorial bye-election, the President<\/div>\n
who was accompanied by the party Chairman Adams Oshiomhole, Governors of<\/div>\n
Bauchi, Plateau, Kano and Imo States, and other party officials declared:<\/div>\n
“we have confidence in him and we trust him.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He, therefore, urged the people of Bauchi South senatorial district to<\/div>\n
vote Hon.\u00a0 Yahaya in the upcoming election.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The President also thanked the people of Bauchi for defying the heavy<\/div>\n
rainfall and coming out en masse to welcome him and show solidarity to the<\/div>\n
