The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused President Muhammadu Buhari
\nand \u201chis All Progressives Congress (APC)\u201d of deceiving Nigerians to secure
\npower on the promise of transparency, accountability and zero tolerance
\nfor corruption.<\/p>\n
According to PDP, rather than fulfil these promises, the APC
\nadministration has \u201cscammed Nigerians and the international community in
\nthe last three years\u201d.<\/p>\n
It said Nigerians have \u201cboarded a one-chance bus driven by vicious and
\nvengeful liars, scammers and a falsehearted and heavily corrupt leaders,
\nparading as saints and messiahs\u201d.<\/p>\n
Addressing a press conference at its national secretariat in Abuja on
\nMonday, the party listed at least 14 cases of corruption in the Buhari
\nadministration to which the President has turned a blind eye.<\/p>\n
These range from the alleged underhand oil contracts to the tune of N9
\ntrillion at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the
\nMinistry of Petroleum Resources, alleged corruption in the handling of the
\nN1.4 trillion oil subsidy regime allegedly involving officials at the
\nPresidency, alleged diversion and alleged stealing of N18 billion out of
\nthe N48 billion approved by the National Assembly for the rehabilitation
\nof millions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and rebuilding of six
\nnortheast states, alleged use of 18 unregistered companies to lift and
\ndivert N1.1 trillion worth of crude oil in 2017, and alleged case of NYSC
\ncertificate forgery involving Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe question today is, where is President Buhari\u2019s fight against
\ncorruption?\u201d the party asked, before submitting: \u201cThe APC and Buhari
\nPresidency have turned Nigeria into their cash cow while manipulating our
\nlaws and rules to favour their selfish designs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Where Is President Buhari\u2019s Fight Against Corruption?
\nGentlemen of the press, we have called you up today to, through you raise
\nserious posers for which we demand immediate response from President
\nMuhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC), whose
\nadministration has scammed Nigerians and the international community in
\nthe last three years.<\/p>\n
President Buhari and his APC deceived Nigerians to secure power on the
\npromise of transparency, accountability and zero tolerance for corruption.
\nLittle did Nigerians then realize that they had boarded a \u201cone chance bus\u201d
\ndriven by vicious and vengeful liars, scammers and a falsehearted and
\nheavily corrupt leaders, parading as saints and messiahs.<\/p>\n
The Buhari Presidency and the APC-led Federal Government have been doing
\nall to divert public attention from their ocean of corruption and
\nprimitive stealing including launching a brutal attack on the opposition,
\nhounding innocent Nigerians for no just cause and seizing the airwaves to
\nbrand everybody else as corrupt, while underneath they shamelessly pillage
\nour nation\u2019s resources, stealing money in trillion, under President
\nBuhari\u2019s official cover.<\/p>\n
Today, the Buhari Presidency has been busted. Today, the very leader, who
\nhitherto paraded as pro-poor and saintly has now been exposed to be at the
\nhead of the most corrupt administration that our nation ever had since
\nindependence.<\/p>\n
If President Buhari and his Presidency are not corrupt; if the APC is not
\na party of corruption, the PDP challenges them to address Nigerians on
\ntheir complicit in the exposed acts of humongous corruption thriving in
\nthe high places under their watch.<\/p>\n
*The PDP challenges President Buhari to explain why his anti-corruption
\nfight has not been extended to investigate the corruption from the leaked
\nmemo detailing alleged underhand oil contracts to the tune of N9 trillion
\n($25billion dollars) at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
\nand the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, which are under the direct
\nsupervision President Buhari as Minister of Petroleum Resources. Why has
\ninvestigation into this scam been suppressed?<\/p>\n
*The PDP challenges President Buhari to explain to Nigerians whose
\ninterest he is protecting by refusing to allow an independent inquest into
\nthe alleged corruption in the handling of the N1.4 trillion oil subsidy
\nregime allegedly involving officials at the Presidency, particularly those
\nbenefiting from alleged N58 hidden tax per liter which Nigerians have
\ncontinued to bear since the fuel price increased from PDP subsidized cost
\nof N87 to presumably unsubsidized cost of N145.<\/p>\n
*The PDP challenges President Buhari and the APC to explain whose
\ninterests they are protecting by suppressing investigation into the
\nalleged use of 18 unregistered companies to lift and divert N1.1 trillion
\nworth of crude oil in 2017. Who are the owners of these companies? Are the
\ncompanies linked to President Buhari or any of his relatives or even APC
\nleaders?<\/p>\n
*Furthermore, the PDP challenges the Buhari Presidency and the APC to
\nexplain to the world why his anti-corruption fight has not been extended
\nto the internationally reported diversion and alleged stealing of N18
\nbillion out of the N48 billion approved by the National Assembly for the
\nrehabilitation of millions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and
\nrebuilding of six northeast states ravaged by insurgency in the 2017
\nbudget.
\nCan the Buhari Presidency and APC claim to be unaware of the damning
\nreport by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a public
\ndocument which detailed how officials were using bulk of the resources
\nmeant for the IDPs on contracts that were found to have immensely
\nbenefitted officials of the APC Government including the sacked Secretary
\nto the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal?<\/p>\n
Can the Presidency and the APC claim to be unaware of the motion by
\nSenator Baba Kaka Garba from Borno Central, who exposed how persons, known
\nto have connections with the APC, fraudulently cornered N1.2 billion from
\nthe Federal Government under the guise of supplying items to IDPs?<\/p>\n
*The PDP challenges the Presidency to explain why his \u2018famed\u2019
\nanti-corruption dragnet has not been cast on the National Health Insurance
\nScheme (NHIS) despite widely reports of alleged stealing of over N25
\nbillion meant for the health need of the people from the account of the
\nScheme in the Treasury Single Account (TSA) by APC agents.
\nCan President Buhari, the African Union anti-corruption champion, explain
\nwhy his Presidency recalled and reinstated the indicted Executive
\nSecretary of the Scheme, Prof. Usman Yakubu, while he was still being
\nquizzed by the EFCC for alleged corruption?<\/p>\n
*The PDP and Nigerians would also want President Buhari to explain why his
\nanti-corruption crusade has not been directed to the discovery of
\nunremitted revenue from sale of crude by the NNPC under his watch as well
\nas the undisclosure of revenue accruable to states for which there have
\nbeen deadlock at the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC). Why are
\nthese areas immune from the anti-corruption fight or are the interests at
\nthe highest places involved in the messy deals.<\/p>\n
*Moreover, it is a settled saying that birds of the same feathers flock
\ntogether. The fact that President Buhari comfortably surrounds himself
\nwith persons indicted for corruption, sundry frauds, common scams as well
\nas forgeries is very revealing on the phoniness of his administration\u2019s
\nfight against corruption.<\/p>\n
*President Buhari has no other explanation for engaging and rewarding
\ncorrupt individuals as ministers, including a certain individual whose
\nstate\u2019s judicial panel of inquiry had in 2015 issued a government white
\npaper indicting him of looting over N90 billion through alleged illegal
\nsale of the assets belonging to the state. After all, the said white paper
\nfurther alleged that N40 billion out of the looted N90 billion was
\ndiverted for APC\u2019s 2015 Presidential campaigns.<\/p>\n
*It is no longer news that one Obono-Obla, President Buhari\u2019s Special
\nAssistant on Prosecution and Chairman, Special Investigation Panel for the
\nRecovery of Public Property in Buhari\u2019s anti-corruption team has been
\nindicted for forging his WAEC certificate, yet his boss, Mr. Integrity has
\nrefused to investigate him.<\/p>\n
*The same goes for Buhari\u2019s Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who has
\nbeen accused of dodging her compulsory national service and allegedly
\nforged the NYSC Exemption Certificate. Despite her inability to deny the
\nallegation, she is still the minister of finance under Mr. Clean.<\/p>\n
Currently, the Buhari Presidency in its corrupt proclivity is seeking to
\nforce the reopening of the Senate contrary to Section 12 of the Senate
\nStanding Rules for which the Presidency and the APC are offering lawmakers
\nfrom both chambers an inducement of the sum of $1 million each with the
\naim of impeaching Senate President Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate
\nPresident Ike Ekweremadu.<\/p>\n
The PDP has been informed that one of the heads of the security agencies
\nis the arrow head of the Buhari Presidency\u2019s agents charged to coordinate
\nthis heinous design, which has the unlimited capacity to throw our nation
\ninto anarchy and ultimately destroy our hard-earned democracy.<\/p>\n
The question today is, where is President Buhari\u2019s fight against corruption?
\nThe APC and Buhari Presidency has turned Nigeria into their cash cow while
\nmanipulating our laws and rules to favour their selfish designs.<\/p>\n
However, the PDP restates a commitment to the Nigerian people to expose
\nthe Buhari administration and fight for the unity, stability, indivisibly
\nand prosperity of our dear nation.<\/p>\n
Nigeria belongs to all of us and nobody, no matter how highly placed has
\nthe right to continue to subvert our laws, beguile, intimidate or even
\nattempt to subjugate our citizens at any time.
