Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, the senator representing Kwara South at the
\nNational Assembly, says the Department of State Services (DSS) officials
\nwho blocked the National Assembly gates and wanted to shoot some lawmakers
\nadmitted to be working based on \u201can order from above\u201d.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that the DSS were violent and ready to shoot. He also said
\nthat mobile phones of some people in the premises were seized.<\/p>\n
He also inquired to know on whose order the DSS are working having claimed
\nto be acting on an order from above.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey told us that we cannot get into our office and that they have order
\nfrom above, so we want to know if it is the Commander-in-Chief that gave
\nthem the order or their DG.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can identify them they are DSS and they are masked, so they are ready
\nto even shoot, they were about to shoot one of us we just had to retract.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are just waiting for our colleagues then all of us in number will
\naddress them. We want to see if they will still stop us; we want to ask
\nthem what they want to do inside the National Assembly today, why they are
\nhere and blocking the way, not protecting us but making sure that we are
\nunable to access our office.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Senator had previously taken to his personal Twitter handle to comment
\non the issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was just barred by fully armed, masked officers of the DSS from
\nentering the National Assembly @nassnigeria,\u201d he had tweeted.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2019We\u2019re acting on the order from above,\u2019 I was told by officers laying
\nsiege to the Assembly. All entrances BLOCKED. Democracy is on siege! @UN
\n#SaveOurDemocracy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Further narrating this morning incident in a video attached to the tweet,
\nRafiu said.<\/p>\n
