\nThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the factional National
\nChairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Adams Oshiomhole
\nstop his obsession to change the leadership of the Senate, as such is
\ncompletely out of his reach.<\/p>\n

A statement signed by the PDP Spokesman, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said
\nOshiomhole has been exhibiting thuggish tendencies in his quest to have
\nSenate President Bukola Saraki impeached.<\/p>\n

According to Ologbondiyan, “The party counsels Oshiomhole to stop his
\nchildish tantrums and get educated on the fact that the positions of the
\nSenate President and that of Deputy Senate President do not belong to
\npolitical parties but to Nigerians, who elect persons into the seats
\nthrough their elected representatives in the Senate.<\/p>\n

“Mr. Oshiomhole should also stop exposing his ignorance in thinking that
\nthe Senate leadership can be changed by his\u00a0 inconsequential orders as a
\nfactional chairman of a\u00a0 political party, when the law is settled that
\nsuch power is vested only on the two-third votes, representing 73 of the
\n109 senators.<\/p>\n

“We know that Oshiomhole is under intense pressure from the Presidency to
\noverheat the polity, distract the National Assembly members and make as
\nmuch effort to cause a constitutional crisis in the country, having
\nrealized that they cannot win the 2019 general elections.<\/p>\n

“However, the PDP strongly cautions these desperate power grabbers to
\nnote that their actions have unlimited capacity to destroy our
\ndemocracy.<\/p>\n

“Nigerians have noted that since his imposition as the factional Chairman
\nof the APC, Mr. Oshiomhole, has done nothing but spewing hate
\nspeeches and officially introducing a thug mentality into the polity,
\nwhile causing confusion in every sector of our national life, including
\nthe Federal Executive Council, the security system, our legislature as
\nwell as in his dysfunctional APC, which as an
\nundertaker, he is finally set to bury.<\/p>\n

“Since Oshiomhole assumed office, the nation has witnessed various
\nunimaginable constitutional infractions, including the invasion of
\nBenue State House of Assembly and the Ekiti state Government House by
\nAPC-Controlled federal security agencies, the escalated harassment of
\nfederal legislators and persons perceived to be averse to APCs’
\nre-election bid; the siege at the residences of Senate President Bukola
\nSaraki and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu by security agencies
\nas well as the recent invasion of the National Assembly
\nby security operatives.<\/p>\n

“While the PDP invites Nigerians and the international community to
\nnote the activities of Mr. Oshiomhole, as being directed by the
\nPresidency, the party hold firmly that they are fighting a lost battle
\nas they cannot cow Nigerians into changing their resolve to end this
\nnightmare by voting the APC out and returning our nation to the path of
\npeace, national cohesion and economic prosperity, on the platform of the
\nrepositioned PDP, come 2019.<\/p>\n
