{"id":63540,"date":"2018-08-13T19:35:14","date_gmt":"2018-08-13T18:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=63540"},"modified":"2018-08-13T19:35:14","modified_gmt":"2018-08-13T18:35:14","slug":"dss-deny-recovering-n21billion-weapons-and-pvcs-from-dauras-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/dss-deny-recovering-n21billion-weapons-and-pvcs-from-dauras-house\/","title":{"rendered":"DSS Deny Recovering N21billion, Weapons and PVCs from Daura\u2019s House"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"\">\n<div id=\":mt\" class=\"ii gt\">\n<div id=\":ms\" class=\"a3s aXjCH m165346e2f29d5957\">\n<div>The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied that it recovered a huge sum of money and weapons in the reportedly searched house of ex-DSS boss, Mr. Lawal Daura.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Mr. Tony Opuiyo, the spokesperson of the agency \u00a0denied not just the report but said there was no iota of truth in the allegation that N21bn and unspecified number of Permanent Voter Cards were found in Daura\u2019s houses.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The spokesman for the agency said that there was no search carried out in the home of Daura by any security agency. The statement reads thus,<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe attention of the Department of State Services has been drawn to the circulation of fake information and videos in which several items were said to have been recovered from the Katsina and Abuja homes of its immediate past Director General, Lawal Daura.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0\u201cThese non-existent items include: N21bn cash, 400 assorted and sophisticated small arms and light weapons\/rifles, and thousands of Permanent Voter Cards belonging to Niger Republic immigrants.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cIn another video also in circulation, some persons believed to be personnel of a security outfit were seen forcing open safes stocked with money.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0\u201cThe security operatives were described as executing a recovery operation at the Katsina home of the former DG.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cConsequently, the Service wishes to inform the public that these videos are false and should be disregarded.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0\u201cSo far, no such recovery operations have been undertaken by the EFCC or any other security agency at DSS\u2019 office or residences of the former DG. \u201cThere is no doubt that different interests have continued to give varied accounts of the incident of last week at the National Assembly.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cIt may, however, be recalled that the Presidency had pledged to carry out a detailed investigation regarding the alleged National Assembly siege.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied that it recovered a huge sum of money and weapons in the reportedly searched house of ex-DSS boss, Mr. Lawal Daura.
