The Presidential aspiration of Atiku Abubakar received a major boost on
\nWednesday as a BoT member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief
\nEmmanuel Iwuayanwu described the former Vice President as an intelligent
\nleader, a true Nigerian and the only aspirant who can be fair to the Igbo
\npeople\u00a0 in equitable distribution of the nation’s resources.<\/p>\n
Chief Iwuayanwu was among several PDP chieftains who were on hand to
\nreceive the former VP as his campaign team arrived Imo on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Chief Iwanyanwu who openly declared his support for Atiku’s aspiration said
\nhe will accompany him abd the campaign team to the party secretariat as a
\nmark of his endorsement and his unalloyed support saying he is looking
\nforward to Atiku’s installation as the President before announcing his
\nretirement from active politics.<\/p>\n
Dignitaries on hand to receive Atiku at the Imo International Airport
\nincluded Sen. Chris Anyanwu, former Governor Achike Udenwa and former
\nMinister Kema Chikwe, Elder Godswill Orubebe, Dr Okwi Nwodo, Yaya Abubakar
\nand several others.<\/p>\n
In his words, former Deputy Speaker,\u00a0 House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka
\nIkhedioha decsribed Alhaji Atiku as the best President Nigeria will have in
\n2019.<\/p>\n
In his response, the former Vice President thanked the leaders and the good
\npeople of Imo for the rousing welcome and overwhelming support.<\/p>\n
He pointed out the need for the leaders to listen and appreciate the
\nfeelings and aspirations of the people of Imo State and the\u00a0 entire South
\nEast geopolitical zone which he said would be addressed at the appropriate
\ntime in his government if given the mandate.<\/p>\n
He expressed his special appreciation to Chief Iwuayanwu\u00a0 for his efforts
\nat stabilising the party and enjoined other leaders to emulate his example
\nby providing the required leadership across Igboland.<\/p>\n
Exposing the incompetence of the ruling APC, Atiku took a swipe at failed
\npromises especially in the area of job creation. “Rather than fulfilling
\nthe promise of creating 3 million jobs, he said “we have lost 3 million
\njobs, security has collapsed, farmers cannot go to farm amid palpable fear
\nacross the land. He described the current leadership of the APC as one that
\nis only ready to take over power but not prepared for governance.<\/p>\n
Extolling the virtues of Chief Iwuayanwu, the former Governor of Ogun State
\nand the Director General Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation described
\nhim as a man imbued with sterling leadership qualities, an astute
\nadministrator, a fearless politician and uncommon philanthropist who has
\ncontributed immensely to Nigeria’s socio-economic developemnt.<\/p>\n
