Hitherto, we all thought that the former Edo state governor had some<\/div>\n
quality stuffs upstairs but in less than two months of being incorporated<\/div>\n
into the national politics from his little labour and Edo state enclaves,<\/div>\n
he has quickly shown that he lacks the capacity to think deep and plan<\/div>\n
strategically on issues especially as concerns engagement strategies<\/div>\n
against political adversaries-real and perceived.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
With every pronouncement, action, and even body language, Adams Oshiomole,<\/div>\n
the newly enthroned National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress<\/div>\n
party (APC) displays himself as a big mistake for the Buhari political<\/div>\n
strategists. The man seems power drunk or at best in a hurry to prove<\/div>\n
something that he has not.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Does Oshiomole not know that majority of the ordinary Nigerian people<\/div>\n
would rather go in support of anyone perceived to be victimized by the<\/div>\n
government whether state or federal? If you like don\u2019t believe this but<\/div>\n
that is the absolute truth of how the psyche of the Nigerian electorate<\/div>\n
works.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
At first many Nigerians thought the Senate President Bukola Saraki was<\/div>\n
done but it has become obvious now how wrong that assertion was. Why on<\/div>\n
earth would anybody use the word treason to describe the actions by the<\/div>\n
Senate President in deferring the reconvening of Senate Plenary? The<\/div>\n
meaning of the word \u201ctreason\u201d is in every dictionary and it just does not<\/div>\n
tally with Saraki\u2019s actions by any stretch of the imagination. Senate<\/div>\n
rules on reconvening plenary are clearly written down and so far, none has<\/div>\n
been breached except in the mind of the APC national chairman.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is absolutely dim-witted for Oshiomole and APC to speculate on a matter<\/div>\n
that is clearly and legally beyond their reach. Does it occur to them that<\/div>\n
subconsciously, they are helping Saraki to remain the Senate President<\/div>\n
till the next election?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The National Assembly does not answer to any political party, in fact it<\/div>\n
doesn\u2019t answer to anyone but itself. That is how it is and will continue<\/div>\n
except we do the constitutionally needful! How can being on a scheduled<\/div>\n
recess and refusing to reconvene earlier than slated amount to treason? It<\/div>\n
is unfortunate that Oshiomhole and his band of deluded sycophants have<\/div>\n
still not realized that they are barking from a position of absolute<\/div>\n
weakness. The earlier they accept it the better for them that Saraki has<\/div>\n
outsmarted them again. The lesson is that it pays to have formal,<\/div>\n
qualitative education or at least well-grounded native intelligence.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Is this not getting ridiculous now? Nobody anywhere in this government is<\/div>\n
talking any more about governance and service delivery to the people of<\/div>\n
this country rather Bukola Saraki has become the day job of the APC<\/div>\n
National Chairman and his gang of shallow minds. Our president has gone to<\/div>\n
London hospital again while we were told he is on vacation. Is that how to<\/div>\n
run a country?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Let\u2019s even look at it: Is this the first time this country is having the<\/div>\n
current scenario in our National Assembly? Not at all! In 2014, Tambuwal,<\/div>\n
the then Speaker of the House of Representatives decamped from PDP to APC<\/div>\n
and was in minority in the House but kept the Speaker seat until he left<\/div>\n
to contest for the governorship ticket in Sokoto state. Did heaven fall<\/div>\n
and if it didn\u2019t why dream it will fall this time around. Abeg, leave<\/div>\n
matter!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Here we are with an Oshimole the coach who is spending huge resources and<\/div>\n
great energy from the sidelines on tantrums with the players of the other<\/div>\n
team.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As aptly put by a concerned Nigerian, \u201cIf you have been following<\/div>\n
Oshiomole closely, you will agree with me that a party chairman is like a<\/div>\n
coach and the politicians are the footballers. The tact and diplomacy of<\/div>\n
the coach moves the team. But when you take a tailor whose best is to put<\/div>\n
saliva on the tip of a thread and pass it through the eye of a needle to<\/div>\n
lead a party, then be sure to remain in that his old school \u2013one- style<\/div>\n
coat of \u2018we no go gree o, we no go greeee!\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Oshiomhole thinks that this is Nigeria Labour Congress turf. He should be<\/div>\n
told and in a plain language too that he is overheating the polity with<\/div>\n
his callous pronouncements and plethora of secret meetings. Interestingly,<\/div>\n
every of his move is in the news and he still thinks he is smart. When you<\/div>\n
have a good number of disgruntled APC senators who were treated badly in<\/div>\n
their various states sitting in Oshiomole\u2019s supposed secret meetings, why<\/div>\n
won\u2019t Saraki and his loyalists outsmart him?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The new APC national chairman thinks this is organised labour aluta<\/div>\n
continua. No, this is politics at the national level. When you see Saraki<\/div>\n
go from Ibrahim Babangida to Olusegun Obasanjo, those guys control some of<\/div>\n
the APC senators that are meeting \u201cin secret\u201d with Oshiomhole. This man<\/div>\n
should be helped to do things differently because there are some battles<\/div>\n
that you leave to fight another day.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Oshiomole would have known or rather be educated that Buhari would not<\/div>\n
have spent\u00a0 all those times dragging Saraki to the Code of Conduct<\/div>\n
Tribunal (CCT) and trying to convict him for three years plus if he could<\/div>\n
use two-third of senators present at any time to deal with him? The<\/div>\n
president had the AGF and Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters to<\/div>\n
educate him.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Even Femi Falana, who is an APC apologist, has warned Oshiomole and his<\/div>\n
gang not to try a mock impeachment on Saraki with less than two-third of<\/div>\n
the entire membership of the Senate. Was he also wrong in saying that<\/div>\n
anything short of two-third is unconstitutional? The constitution could<\/div>\n
have said impeachment by simple majority which is easier than two-third of<\/div>\n
the entire senators.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Saraki knows so much more than those fighting him. Politics is not all<\/div>\n
about media war. It\u2019s about the Constitution and the numbers. APC should<\/div>\n
work on this.<\/div>\n

Whether you like Saraki or not is immaterial here. Divinity has placed him<\/div>\n
(one from among them) from turning this country into a cult nation and<\/div>\n
totalitarian state.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
What purpose does removing the Senate President serve for the country<\/div>\n
other than the executives having their way to the detriment of the<\/div>\n
country? This is much ado about nothing. Is the legislature supposed to be<\/div>\n
a rubber stamp to all executive decision? Saraki to me has been a blessing<\/div>\n
to Nigerians in the face of this irresponsible government that operates<\/div>\n
