There is disquiet in the Department of State Security, DSS, over plans by<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

the Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari, to
\nsack the newly appointed Acting Director General, Mr. Mathew Seiyefa,
\ncompetent sources have told Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n

DSS Personnel are currently piqued over Kyari\u2019s recent verbal directive to
\nthe Acting DG for a reversal of all postings recently made.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that four Directors who are due for retirement
\nhave used their links in the presidency to remain in office and have
\nresisted Seiyefa\u2019s new restructuring of the spy agency that has suffered
\nbattered image. The four Directors are all from the North.<\/p>\n

Sources revealed that Kyari, a top member of the cabal, has not been happy
\nover the abrupt sacking of Lawal Daura and has severally impressed upon
\nthe President the urgent need to appoint a loyalist to head the spy
\nagency.<\/p>\n

Sources hinted Pointblanknews.com that the attempt by Kyari and some
\nleaders of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to politicize the agency, is
\na major course for concern.<\/p>\n

Daura was sacked from the agency after he ordered men from the DSS to
\ninvade and lock up the National Assembly. Daura said the decision to
\ninvade the National Assembly was a collective responsibility.<\/p>\n

Seiyefa was immediately named to replace Daura.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Seiyefa\u2019s appointment was celebrated
\nas he swiftly went into action, paying allowances withheld by Daura and
\nreshuffling the agency to its core missions and objectives.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the current Acting DG not only paid
\nallowances withheld by his predecessor but also ordered the release of
\ndetainees who have been illegally kept in the custody of the DSS.<\/p>\n

Part of those released were some officials of the DSS who were allegedly
\ndetained by Daura for two years on charges of performing \u201cillegal duties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that among the names being mentioned as a
\npossible replacement for Seiyefa is General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazzau,
\nthe current Minister for Internal Affairs.<\/p>\n

Dambazzau is loyalist of Buhari and a core member of the Cabal. He has
\nbeen with Buhari since the days of the defunct Congress for Progressive
\nChange, CPC, a political party formed by Buhari.<\/p>\n

Cabal members view Dambazzau as a strong and strategic candidate for the
\nDSS top job because of the roles he is expected to play as the 2019
\nelections approaches. Although, it is not immediately clear if Dambazzau
\nwould accept the position.<\/p>\n

Since he resumed, Seiyefa has been attempting to reposition the spy agency
\nand redeploying politically exposed Directors. He has within the few weeks
\nin office calmed already tensed nerves in the agency and ensured
\nentitlements are paid.<\/p>\n

Seiyefa, joined the DSS in June 1984. He would retire in 2019 when he
\nwould have spent 35years in the service.<\/p>\n

Attempts to reach the DSS Spokesman for comment and General Dambazzau were
\nnot successful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
